Ahh, the famous U-Gouge. That was a far superior way to slice the bread, but was too labor intensive. The current cutting method is faster. If you get an old-timer making your sandwich, you can ask for the U-Gouge. Most people will have no idea what you're talking about though.

Quiznos for salads, Subway for sandwiches.

I think it's interesting to see 42 different answers to a question that asks to choose between two.
Quiznos. I think their meats are higher quality, and our team seems to be trained better than the high-turnover Subways in the area. |
Quiznos.. more variety and better toasting. That's all I have.

Quiznos tastes like food...Subway is getting better but still has a tad of the cardboard flavor going on
|
Went into quiznos the other day ordered a sandwich to go. I checked mine when they gave it to me, found out I had taken the wrong one. WHen they gave it to the right person, that person was like, "(I) opened it, I don't know what germs he has." Like he was some kind of germophobe. So the people behind the counter, miffed at his ignorance (I mean I moved the wrapper slightly, Christ alive), threw the sandwich in the garbage and made him one from scratch.
I check because this has happened to me before. |
Quiznos was in Australia for a few years, but now gone. Just couldn't compete with Subway and there were some other issues too.
Not really sure if any of the stores are still branded Quiznos, but doubt that they are. I didn't really like Quiznos. The subs were too complex. |
Q-zs has a great Prime Rib sandwhich that is soo good i wanted to eat more and i was full....one of my standards for good food(would you like to eat more when youre absolutely stuffed)
|
Definitely Quiznos. Their ingredients actually look like food, and the bread tastes much better than that salty, bland stuff Subway uses.
Of course, I'll drop both in favor of Publix Subs. (Grocery stores in the south US) - they use Boar's Head meats, you can order whatever veggies you want on top, and the bread is great :) |
The meats at Quiznos are hand sliced in-store to preserve freshness and taste. Subway's meats are shipped to the stores pre-sliced and pre-packaged.

Quiznos is number one here in Toledo, Ohio, but Subway is the one used by the city-gov't sponsored Health Awareness promotion...

Subway, isn't that where Jared eats? Lost weight, found a wife (at subway?) and made a ton of money on commercials!

this is not a million dollar question, there are far better sandwich shops and dare I say it, but yes even far better chains that Subway or Quiznos. I did get suckered into Quiznos prime rib sandwich, what a bunch of injected crap meat, terrible flavor. Fool me once..... Not going to happen again. They both suck. |
