For me Q comes before S. FWIW there seems to be a S about every 500 ft anymore and the Q are much rarer.

Usually Quizno's, but I'm also fond of that great feeder of drunk college students, Jimmy John's! ^

Quiznos but I really don't like any place that preslices their meats period.

Subway it is for me.

I have to say though, they've stopped the way I originally remember them cutting their bread. Instead of in half, as is the standard, Subway used to cut kind of a triangle out of the top, then put the "hat" back on once the meat and stuff was loaded. I preferred it that way as it seemed to be less messy to eat.

Silly, I know.

However...anyone notice that smell coming out of most Subway stores? It's not really baking bread like at a proper bakery.

Yeah sometimes I'm eating in there with my wife, and about 30-45 minutes later when we return home, all our clothes smell like a bakery. It definitely makes you wonder...

In an absolute worst case scenario, where I would die of hunger without nourishment, I would pick Subway. Quizno's is atrocious, Subway is atrocious - (minus) 3, by comparison.

Some of the same debate occurred earlier here.

Has there been a thread here on the best cold cuts / luncheon meats obtainable nationally, e.g. Boar's Head or ? If not, maybe it's time for a thorough discussion.

I just can't handle Subway meats unless I really spice up something like an Italian sub and try not think as I inhale it. :p

Ahh, the famous U-Gouge. That was a far superior way to slice the bread, but was too labor intensive. The current cutting method is faster. If you get an old-timer making your sandwich, you can ask for the U-Gouge. Most people will have no idea what you're talking about though.

Ah yes, I do remember that. One of the cooler things about them.

I go to Subway because they have wraps (less carbs), but if I abolutely, positively had to have a sandwich (all that bread), I would pick Quizno's.

But a Double Meat Animal Style from In 'n Out beats anything either Q or S has to offer! :)

pbz Sep 30, 2007 9:40 pm

Subway because you get to customize it item-by-item. Also because the crazy nut now running our local Quizno's refused to honor Mrs. z's "Q-card" because it had punches from a different store, and then yelled at her when she returned the sandwich which was not prepared the way it was requested.

Buh-bye from us and welcome to me using my veto if any of the gang at work ever suggest it.

Quiznos.

Sandwiches are more flavorable and varied compared to Subway even though more expensive. I personally like Jersey Mike's better than even one, though.
