And if you like it, I demand that you take some of the vodka, shake it with lots of ice, and have everybody do a shot in my honor!

I have to laugh after some recent vodka "tastings" in NYC, at one of which more than half the selected (or self selected) "experts" misidentified almost every sample and consistently chose lower priced brands as "better".
At another, a new medium priced ($$22 a liter or so) unknown, "Tito's Handmade" (distilled in Austin, Texas!) placed first, ahead of the well known "fancy brands".
Vodka's pretty muchly vodka. It's the ice in most bars that's nasty. I keep it in the freezer, along with the glasses, and prefer a healthy twist of bitter orange peel or a half a key lime, far better than the "Koolade" essence of most flavored vodkas.
But then I can hardly imagine screwing up green tea with vodka. Or Cucumbers? Cucumbers in vodka strikes me as worse than a vibrator in the Gin. Now a bit of Pusser's or Gosling Dark Rum in Black Tea when the sleet's rattling against the charthouse windows; that's another story......

We have a thread about your favorite vodka; I want to know what your favorite CHEAP vodka is!
While I do love my Ultimat, I save that for me...and maybe my latest bootie call.
For the cheap stuff, I like Pinnacle and Three Olives. For the price, they can't be beat. Smirnoff gets honorable mention.
Even on the cheap, though, any flavored vodka is still bad.

No, no, no, no!
As we've ascertained that the cocktail needs real green tea, don't brew it for longer than 60 seconds (40 seconds is usually enough). If you want the tea to be extra strong, then put more tea leaves in. And make sure the water isn't too hot.
Overbrewing and using water over 80C will turn your fresh green tea into a bitter potion.
A 'how to make green tea guide' here; http://www.ippodo-tea.co.jp/en/tea/sencha_01.html ( I highlight: pour the boiled water into TWO empty cups before pouring onto the tea)
(I'm still taking medication at the moment so can't test out the cocktail for myself)
