Oban is great, but I'll take a dram of Talisker 18 please.

Me too! Looked at a Talisker 30 at my liquor store last weekend -- couldn't justify the cost but maybe someday...

macallan is/was a LOT cheaper in UK vs USA/virginia. others may be similar, something to pay attention to when in UK/traveling.

lagavulin is a personal favorite. I really enjoy Aberlour 12, 15 as well. Recently tried some of the Japanese scotches (Hibiki and Nikka) and was impressed.

Peated
Ardbeg Corryvreckan
Ardbeg Uigeadail
Lagavulin 16 (If you enjoy this malt, try the Ardbegs)
Laphroaig 10 (fantastic malt, fantastic price)

Sherried
Aberlour A'bunadh
MacAllan Cask Strength

Dessert
Auchentoshan Three Wood

Everyday/Introduction to Scotch
Balvenie 12 y.o. Doublewood

Traditional (Non-Chill Filtered)
Glenlivet Nadurra Line

Foreign (not produced in Scotland)
Yamazaki 12 y.o.

Just Say No
Johnnie Walker - the entire line. While some are
certainly decent drams, you can pick up a few great
single malts for the same price as a Blue Label.

Great list. I would add that for about the price of the Aardbegs you mentioned you can get the Laphroig 18 which is incredible.

I've never tried it. Added to my todo list!

The quarter cask is also fantastic, and not much more in price than the 10.

I would disagree with you on the Johnnie Walker a little. The green is very good.

Love the Correyvrekan. The Laphroaig 18 ain't cheap anymore (in the States). I paid less for the 30 yr 5 years ago or so.

I'll check this out as well. Laphroaig 10 was my first scotch, so sentiment usually drives my purchase from that distillery.

No disagreement from me. My argument is that I would rather have more single malts than a (admittedly enjoyable) blend.

Love the Correyvrekan.

It may replace the Uigeadail as my favorite dram. I really hope that Ardbeg doesn't follow the MacAllan/JW trend towards N.A.S. lines (to the detriment of quality).

Interesting article.
I can't remember the last time I have had Johnnie Walker.

One of my memorial deal was two 1L Ardbeg Quarter cast at LHR T4 duty free for 35GBP a year ago.

Me neither. I've always been curious about the Blue Label but I've never wanted to spend that much on a blend.

The Double Black is good for the price I think. I always try to sample the Blue when in a BA first lounge at LHR. It is good as a free drink. It is interesting flavor wise to me.
