Was able to snag 3 btls of Talisker 18. Haven't been able to get any for at least a year. It doesn't get much better. Time to fire up a Liga Privada T-52.

Where were you able to find 18 year old Talisker? I haven't seen this for about 3 years. Used to be my favorite single malt.

Thank you whiskey of the month club... Balcones Brimstone - Texas Scrub Oak Blue Corn Whiskey. Tasty with a nice sweet maple finish.

I own a bar. Salesman said they had a couple cases. 3 btls was my limit. You might wanna try Highland Park 18. Similar flavor profile, but a little more subtle. W/out a cigar - I like it better & it's always available.

Try wine-searcher.com. Didn't see any stores in IL but maybe you'll find one in a state you frequently visit (or one that will ship for a reasonable cost).

Santa brought me a nice bottle of Ardbeg for Christmas. Looking forward to trying it soon.

That's great. This location is steps away from Marriott Marina Del Ray where I will be doing a week of training followed by a three day conference the week after in Jan13.
:D

YVW.

Be aware that the prices I listed were what was available last week and they might have changed since then. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to search a particular store's booze inventory online and my experience in calling is that it seldom results in anyone answering.

My bottle of Macallan 12 is starting to run low. I would like to buy something to replace it. Not that I don't like this, but I would like to try something new. Recommend something to me.

As stated, I like the Macallan. I don't like those iodine tasting scotches (I think this pretty much rules out Islays) Willing to spend $40-$50. I live in Dallas and have access to great liquor stores. But options like Costco and Trader Joes don't work.

I'd recommend Oban 14 or Glenmorangie Lasanta.

The Van Nuys store had the same selection and prices yesterday.

Thanks

The Oban 14 was one I was considering.
