Rao’s also goes on sale a couple of times a year at Costco. $2-3 off the two pack. Easy to stock up on it, unless you eat it nightly!

Have you eaten at Rao’s? I only heard about it in the past decade.

I have not. It is (or was) among the hardest reservations to get in NYC - you pretty much had to know the right people to get in. The sauce started appearing in small batches in the NY area in the late 90s, but did not go into large scale production / nationwide distribution until about a decade ago.

definitely Costco sales for Rao’s when possible. It’s one of the few food products where my inventory level is higher in quantity compared to a retailer, all due to the promotion.

I have eaten at the one in Vegas...no problem getting in. I didn't have anything with marinara sauce I don't think. It's just not something I usually order at an Italian restaurant.

Tonight will be my bi-weekly cheat meal from the keto diet:

I know that Rao’s jars are owned by the group that has Stonyfeld yogurt. My food industry friend works for that company; their boss handles the Costco account for Rao’s.
I keep hoping that Costco will sell a 4-pack of the pizza sauce, which is $5.99 retail at Safeway. I try to only buy it on sale. definitely Costco sales for Rao’s when possible. Was it good enough for returning or do you prefer to return to other Italian restaurants when you’re in Vegas? Which years do you go? I like their lemon chicken but just make it at home . |
Dinner tonight was a coq au vin. Delish.
