Oh, that's bigger than I thought!

Thought this might be the place to ask – for the Americans out there, how much would the large Mrs. Dash mixed herbs/spice mix cost at your local?

Can't seem to get it here in Australia. I bought one in Papua New Guinea of all places – the supermarket in Ukarumpa caters for the American expats there. Great little mix that can be used in such a variety of dishes for added flavour. Been missing it for years.

Anyone know where you can get it here in Australia, without paying $20+ for shipping?

No suggestions on where to get it in Australia, although if you need someone to ship it to you, let me know.

Ok, color me confused. What happened to your claim that your son has forbidden the consumption (or mere presence) of pork in the house and your respect of that edict? I think you are just messing with us. You have pork daily, it seems.

This.
I don't get it either. I don't expect people on this forum to mess with each other .

my child is unaware of several forbidden / sin foods & products in the house - on Friday Shabbat, we are all so tired that it’s fine for our child to eat a quick supper with us and then playing online with school friends. So there’s a strong lack of awareness of certain foods, especially if strategically placed. I can cook pork products for my weekday luncheon because my child is at school.

Ok, but I am still confused, you said it was about respecting his wishes and honoring his request that there not be pork in the house. So you are allowed to hide and eat the pork as long as he doesn’t know? Anyway, it is up to you, of course. I just think some of us are confused when you say your son forbids it in the house and you honor that but as long as he doesn’t know, you can hide in the pork closet and indulge. I recall you used to scour labels for any trace of pork and wouldn’t buy it. I guess he has lifted the ban on pork products?

I don’t like prosciutto on pizza but have reluctantly had it back when my spouse wanted it as a topping (white pizza with prosciutto and arugula). I don’t know when I’ll have salami again in the house as it is great for sandwiches.

it’s a combo of our child’s preference plus religion, although pork is also very unhealthy; I think it’s worse than cow. I try to have under 8-Oz of red meat a week if possible!

Exactly. At some point the kid is going to figure out that you have been lying to him all this time. IMO, it would be best to say upfront that he doesn't have to eat pork but that you are the adult and can eat what you want. I don't get all the deception but as Fink said, it is up to you.
Have you always celebrated Shabbat?

Went for “ light “ Japanese at a club considering the extravagant meals since CHRISTmas & these past 15 days of CNY ( despite more days / more than a week within Lent ) . 2 appetisers , one shown below and tofu salad . Had wagyu beef with special udon in soup as my main .

Some of the ebi and extra Japanese , of course , mayonnaise
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...0b5500445.jpeg
Had goma / sesame , momo ( 2 ) and yuzu ice creams .. iced green tea & iced water . There was the usual hot tea being served too , just out of shot .

They ran out of ice cream a la carte dishes so one peach went on the set menu bowl .. since it was “ full “ house ( guess folks do not usually order so much ice cream )
