sad and I guess it makes sense during pandemic. Thanks for the tip.

we tend to eat at Publican T3 during luncheon so it’s all about sandwiches and pretzels. So good. So fun. I’m glad to know about their actual restaurant because we never considered that possibility :-)

My understanding was that the airport location had a much different menu, more suited for the location. The original was founded on the idea that the 3 best foods one could eat were pork, oysters, and beer. It's morphed over the years into what I would call highly-elevated peasant food. Still have great beer and even a beer sommelier. And there's enough on the menu that you don't have to order pork :). It seems like forever ago, but it was one of my favorite weekend brunches in Chicago as well.

I'm making meatloaf and green beans for dinner.

Cupcakes and wine this evening. A business thing where the sponsor (clearly, not of the AA type) sent the attendees two bottles of wine and some cupcakes via FedEx for the event. East coast attendees will be having a nightcap with dessert. West coast attendees will be having dessert before dinner. Or that may be dinner.

Rolls and nigiri, but mainly nigiri. Mr Gfunk gets the custom fancy rolls unique to the restaurant and I get the sushi deluxe platter which is a mix of nigiri and a roll or two. TOnight they gave me a tuna roll and some kind of minced fish (maybe crab?) and avocado.

I should get the Sushi Regular platter but I always get the Deluxe and I always feel like I ate too much. :-/

I'm also a rolls and nigiri person. Deluxe platters tend to have way too much.

Thought this might be the place to ask – for the Americans out there, how much would the large Mrs. Dash mixed herbs/spice mix cost at your local?

Can't seem to get it here in Australia. I bought one in Papua New Guinea of all places – the supermarket in Ukarumpa caters for the American expats there. Great little mix that can be used in such a variety of dishes for added flavour. Been missing it for years.

Anyone know where you can get it here in Australia, without paying $20+ for shipping?

It looks like the really big (21 oz) is around $11-12 US$.

Exhausting day so Chinese carryout supper (same place where I went on 2/12 - lunar new year eve)
crab rangoon
eric’s cakes with peanut sauce
walnut prawns
Kung pao chicken
moo Shu veggie with 4 extra pancakes
white rice

for me:
hunan smoked pork
szechuan pork
girl scout cookies for dessert

all excellent and we will have a few days of leftovers, especially if I cook up some bok choy and tofu, both of which are nicely in our fridge

Ok, color me confused. What happened to your claim that your son has forbidden the consumption (or mere presence) of pork in the house and your respect of that edict? I think you are just messing with us. You have pork daily, it seems.

Pub with friends and then lamb koftas on the Weber, tabouli, dips and Turk bread. This summer has been so wet and cold, I'm guessing the winter will be the same.
