Cupcakes and wine this evening. A business thing where the sponsor (clearly, not of the AA type) sent the attendees two bottles of wine and some cupcakes via FedEx for the event. East coast attendees will be having a nightcap with dessert. West coast attendees will be having dessert before dinner. Or that may be dinner.

Rolls and nigiri, but mainly nigiri. Mr Gfunk gets the custom fancy rolls unique to the restaurant and I get the sushi deluxe platter which is a mix of nigiri and a roll or two. TOnight they gave me a tuna roll and some kind of minced fish (maybe crab?) and avocado.
I should get the Sushi Regular platter but I always get the Deluxe and I always feel like I ate too much. :-/ |
Squid with black beans and chorizo tonight, accompanied with Champagne to celebrate the two of us getting our jabs!
|
Seared, pepper-crusted tuna with a sauteed broccoli slaw tonight.

Thought this might be the place to ask for the Americans out there, how much would the large Mrs. Dash mixed herbs/spice mix cost at your local?
Can't seem to get it here in Australia. I bought one in Papua New Guinea of all places the supermarket in Ukarumpa caters for the American expats there. Great little mix that can be used in such a variety of dishes for added flavour. Been missing it for years. Anyone know where you can get it here in Australia, without paying $20+ for shipping? |

Pub with friends and then lamb koftas on the Weber, tabouli, dips and Turk bread. This summer has been so wet and cold, I'm guessing the winter will be the same.
