our child requested no pork in our house so we try to honor this request. Children have practically zero control or influence in their home, so it’s an easy request to try and honor.

It doesn't sound like your wife is avoiding pork products if she is eating prosciutto which by the way is also really good on pizza.
I don’t like prosciutto on pizza but have reluctantly had it back when my spouse wanted it as a topping (white pizza with prosciutto and arugula). I don’t know when I’ll have salami again in the house as it is great for sandwiches.

it’s a combo of our child’s preference plus religion, although pork is also very unhealthy; I think it’s worse than cow. I try to have under 8-Oz of red meat a week if possible!
