Wow, those were fantastic and near impossible to find.) We were making smashed potatoes this summer and those are pretty good, too.

I love most sweet potato preparations, including mashed.
Is it the texture? You obviously don't hate the taste of potatoes. What about a baked potato with all the goodies on top (sour cream, chives, bacon bits etc).

Leftover Thanksgiving dinner tonight, which is roast chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, giblet gravy, green beans, and good old Ocean Spray jellied cranberry sauce. The chicken carcass and drumsticks have been stripped of meat for chicken enchiladas tomorrow, and the carcass is now simmering into broth which will be concentrated and frozen for future use.

I don't seek it out, but i'd eat it if served one. I skipped the mashed potatoes last night.

I am missing one the favorite parts of a Thanksgiving dinner....making a mashed potato volcano. I don't have gravy because I didn't cook a turkey but when I do....nothing like making a mound of mashed potatoes and a big well in the center --put in butter and then pour gravy in the well until it overflows like a volcano. Sigh.

I generally find microwave rather than oven reheating leads to better flavor and less dryness (using a mw cover especially). Of course if you want crispy in reheated food (eg fried chicken, pizza, green onion pancake) either a toaster oven or air fryer

I agree...ovens are a very dry environment. Turkey slices will do ok in the oven if wrapped in lettuce which is mostly water so keeps things moist. Stovetop and microwave unless going for a crisp (such as marshmallow topping on sweet potatoes ) exterior. Bread products don't do well in the microwave either .

The online recipe I found for rehearing both mashed potatoes and turkey suggested 350 at 30min with some added liquids. All remained delicious :-)
even the moist stuffing retained its moisture.

Sorry, previously you asked for FT wisdom rather just doing online searches yourself so I thought you might be interested.

Glad you enjoyed the method you used.
