I still like their lemonade, FWIW. And their burgers are good for the price they're charging; of course you're going to find better if you're willing to spend more money.
Of course, I definitely can't go anywhere near as often as I used to. Maybe once a month or every other month at most these days. (BTW it would be nice if I could pay with my phone there. I doubt that's coming any time soon, though, even if it were in the form of a mobile app or something. That's one thing Five Guys has over them.) |

I'll be honest. After 6 years living in San Diego I was over In-N-Out, but I'm going back for two days next week and can not wait for their fries and a shake!!!!!!

There is a UA pilot from SFO who would bring bring a bag of In N Out burgers to one of the ground crew in HNL whenever the Pilot flies there.
They are friends apparently and the ground crew guy loves those burgers. lol |

Who knew?
In the Los Angeles Times: That time Julia Child ate at In-N-Out? Learn more at Santa Barbara culinary fest The late Julia Child was a big fan of In-N-Out Burger. Jamie West, executive chef at the Montecito Club in Santa Barbara California, said he stopped at the fast-food chain more than once during a road trip with the grande dame of cooking. “On the way up the coast, we ate In-N-Out burgers in the car,” West told the Ventura County Star newspaper in 2009. “On the way back, we went inside to order at the In-N-Out Burger in Santa Maria. A young woman behind the counter kept looking at us. Then she whispered to me: ‘Is that Julia Child?’ It was great how people of all ages knew who she was.” *** |

The In-N-Out they plan on opening in Park Meadows in the southern Denver 'burbs will be an absolute traffic disaster.

But that would mean having to decide between In-n-Out and Portillo's when I am in town!

Portillos all the way ;)
INO much easier to get to for me ^ Add to that the abysmal service levels at some locations - South Loop, I'm talking about you - where no one seems to know what they're doing and either "hide out" talking on their cell phones or in the case of at least one person manage to just walk around and do absolutely nothing, and I'm done with Portillo's.Instead of the normal organized food like I'm used to they just seem to run in circles, and then in the end they can't even manage to get the right food in the right bag half the time. |

Sorry to add to postings from 2017, but it is my sad duty to report that Portillo's is on the downhill zephyr. On my last trip even the size of the hot dog had been reduced, and had a different flavor and texture.

Not sure I'd like reheated In-N-Out, no matter how much I love them otherwise.
Every time I'm on a trip that takes me near one, on the last/second to last day of my trip, I order a dozen double doubles with onions, and they give them to me in a box. I put that box into a plastic bag and put it in the fridge in the hotel room. When I pack my bags and check out, I put the bag with the box in it into my checked bag and check it at the airport. They make it home just fine. My friends think it's disgusting, but I think cold double doubles are phenomenal. |
Prefer them hot, but when I cant have them hot, cold works for me as well! Like raw and sautéed onions together on the burger.
