Piping hot crepe with fresh strawberries and caramel and a dusting of powered sugar from the little stand on the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta. Tastes especially good as you sit next to the beach on a warm evening watching the people promenade by.

I'd eat everything mentioned so far. Though, as Doc Savage pointed out, something worthwhile doesn't need to come from a highfalutin restaurant.
Along Jalan Mangga Besar in Jakarta, I came upon a "Kue Medan (Medan cakes)" vendor. Although she was in front of a related (North Sumatran) restaurant, I went to town with the variety of gelatinous/sticky rice treats available. The cakes are small, often flavored with pandan (a regional tropical plant), coconut and chocolate and are a much better bang-for-your-rupiah than "sitting down" to eat the same.
Completely unrelated note (ish), have any of you tried Chinatown (in US Chinatowns, at least) takes on Western desserts?

I have a pretty sophisticated pallette, except when it comes to desserts. Just give yellow cake with chocolate frosting and a side of vanilla ice cream.
Chocolate chip cookies are good too.

While you have that, I'll be having the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake with the same ice cream, so you don't have to worry about me cockaroaching any of your souffle (well, I might want a small taste).

Banana Tres Leches at Ola in Miami Beach. It's basically a sponge cake soaked with three kinds of milk so it feels like it's melting in your mouth:

Also, to keep with the Latin American theme, the flan at the Havana Cafe in Phoenix, AZ is amazing. It got me into flan in fact and I've loved it ever since.

Trattoria Osvaldo outside Florence
Simple Panna Cotta made inhouse by Marco (who's also the waiter) or sometimes his wife. Topped in wild blueberry sauce (also home made).
Heaven on earth.
Our friends from Florence compain a bit since the chef is from Bologna and thus cannot be completely trusted in the kitchen, but find the food accepable despite this flaw.

Come to think of it, I'll go with "cheese plate" as well. Since I've been in Asia a bit recently, mainly Jakarta and Shenzhen, I miss the selection back in the states (although I miss more ANYTHING in Europe). So, every now and then a cheese plate with assorted spreads and the standard issue walnut raisin slices are given a go.
