I dunno, I didn't go into a Burger King. But you know what they put on french fries in Holland instead of ketchup?

I second that. they grind their own meat - a mixture of brisket chuck and short rib. its blasphemous to put anything on it.

Yep. You joined in on a string of quotes from Pulp Fiction. Thought you knew....

Darn, went right over my head. Crap!

But I couldn't really quote the next line now, could I? Would get me banned.

I need to cast my vote for Shake Shack in NYC. I wouldn't be surprised if they sprinkled some crack on that thing it's so good.

I've been thinking of this thread during my trip to NYC. My verdict:
Shake Shack: Awesome burger with cheese, but the bun is just so sweet that it's unpleasant to my European taste buds. Expectation fail
De Santos: NYC Brunch place with "unlimited" champagne cocktails (until you finish their champagne - oops) does a really phenomenal burger. The best I've had in the last year. High quality, done medium rare, full of flavour.

The Burger Joint in NYC if you can find it. Ignore the man behind that curtain.

Gotts Roadside in Napa gets my vote when in CA.

On the east coast right now my choice is for BLT Burger.

Gotts in Napa used to be Taylor's refresher I think. They had to change their name as the original Taylors is still in St.Helena. Good burgers but my favorite is Andies burgers on Freeway Drive just North of the Outlet Shops.
My wife says Buckhorn in Downtown Napa has the best burgers @ $6.99

I go once a month to Phylises ( sp ) in Novato for a mushroom burger. Its good! with a retired friend of mine. We have been in more burger joints than the average person.

And, as several folks have mentioned, I cook a good burger myself!

Cheers!

Hands down Chuckbox in Tempe, AZ

Flame-broiled. Delicious. Maybe my flight home from ATL will divert quickly so I can grab one ;)

As an Arizona State graduate I smile when I think of that place. I certainly wouldn't call it the best burger in the world but I've walked and driven past it so many times so thank you for the good memories

IMO, veggies have no place on a burger. Start with the basics, meat, cheese and bun. If anything is added to this, it must not be healthy, it must contribute to clogging your arteries. More cheese? Heck yeah. Chili? Bring it on. Tomato? No way. Pickle? Evil!
