Alexander the Hague

A meal I had in Alexander the Hague restaurant. They had a 25 Euro 3 course menu, which I thought was pretty reasonable. Due to low light, the image is rather dark. For the main course, I had the salmon.

Bacon Wrapped Filet with peppercorn bourbon sauce, garlic brown rice/quinoa blend, and creamed corn. Double starch no veg, oh well.

Where do you go to school? At Cal we had mystery meat, mashed potatoes, etc. That was awhile a go though.

Haha, Middle Georgia State University. The Eastman campus dining hall is only open for lunch (and I still don't go then), so you're on your own for meals. I used to go to William and Mary and food was decent in the dining halls, but I've heard it's gone downhill since Sodexo took over. The dorms here in EZM are apartment-style with each "room" having either 2 or 4 bedrooms and 1 or 2 bathrooms (respectively) and a full (mediocre, but whatever) kitchen. Perk of the 2 bed ones is that they have a dishwasher which is super handy.

Went to lunch at Thai Cafe and had chicken satay and chicken masaman curry plus coconut soup.

Dinner was a leftover pasta with mild Italian sausage dish I made earlier this week.

Homemade Thai Red Curry with chicken. Hard to get decent Thai food in Germany so we have to do it ourselves.

I rarely crave Thai food...but what you mentioned sounds ideal! Have any photos of the meal, onobond?

Usually good when grocery shopping but tonight (~930p):

1. One box Cocoa Pebbles
2. One box Kellogg's Special K + berries
3. One pint: Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

And, just finished off the #3 in one sitting. Afraid to look at the label: Okay - here goes: 1,120 calories. Refuse to do the calculation how long on the treadmill that takes to burn off.

After hearing, many times, "Really??? You've NEVER BEEN to a Cheesecake Factory???" I can report that I've now been (...dragged there by a colleague).

Had an overpriced, mediocre salad. The bread was good. Maybe I needed to order cheesecake?

I've been dragged there time and time again and I have never had a good, or even a satisfactory meal. Overpriced, bland food.

^^^ Awful place IME. Never understood the fascination. Menu is also way too big for them to do anything well.
