My dear old mum,who is 87,has just gone into hospital and it's quite likely she might not come out.
In expectation of an imminent funeral I was horrified to find last night that I can't fit in the only dark suit I now possess.
So today is the start of a no-carbs week.
My go-to home-made lunch everyday in these situations is a big pot of soup made from chicken, prawns, chorizo, kale, grated cauliflower, five cloves of garlic and some Thai curry paste.
It's delicious.
