Fired up the AGA last night and today we're having the full roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding Sunday dinner they were all too sick to eat yesterday.
18-year-old says thanks but he'd prefer I didn't post pictures of his riotous celebrations.

-Akkeshi pirikara sanma (saury)
-Konbu tea and chips
and soon, bagna cauda tortilla chips

Needed a $30 dine to qualify for a Skymiles dining bonus so I tried the new Longhorn Steakhouse in Durham. Had a NY Strip, Caesar salad, baked potato and a Shiner Bock. Pretty meh actually, worse than Texas Roadhouse for sure. But hey, I'll get 2,599 miles out of it so there's that.

So UK1, it is pizza month?
You really don't have to go through all that flour. Though they do look appetizing, those pizzas of yours.

Long life and decanted into vacuum packs! I went through a stage a few years ago. I simply wanted to make the very best pizza i have ever tasted at home. Focus on authentic Neapolitan pizza with a few sideways distractions. Wanted to get back to my pizzas! The problem is it's a great supper dish. To make the authentic base you have to slow develop the dough from poolish/biga so I have a shelf in the fridge with small bowls of dough, and a pizza oven that gives me the required 450 to 500 degrees. Always have some mushrooms, mozzarella balls, and tomato. Pizza in 60 to 90 seconds.
You can try all the toppings but plain Neapolitan pizza can't be beaten. I don't seem to get fed up with them. In fact I'm currentyl spending all day thinking about them.

I think i'll go and make one .....

Supper was a charcoal pandan cake from a local Japanese inspired bakery called Oishi, as well as decaf coffee from my nespresso machine. The cake really looked like charcoal, as you can see in the very short video clip.

It's a wet and windy night in Ireland so comfort food is on the menu.
Ginger, garlic and chilli pork chops, potato gratin and petit pois for the family and cheese on toast for the chef when he returns from the pub.
Marvellous.

Had a great burger on my break at work - with pulled pork and blue cheese, accompanied by cheese, truffle and parsley fries smothered in Buffalo sauce.
This is why I love working in a burger bar!

Swung by Whole Foods and got some New Orleans Chicken Gumbo soup, a baguette and a peanut butter cookie for dinner. Soup was good, and even better after adding hot sauce ^

Packed rice lunch in Singapore
This is what I had for lunch today. Packet rice, with some fried chicken, cabbage and braised tofu. Cost was three Singapore dollars.

Coffee, kaya butter toast and half or three-quarter boiled eggs. A common breakfast set or for afternoon tea.

The short video clip shows you more details of this very simple and common light meal in Singapore.
