I find it easier to find red that I like - I'd always choose a cheap red over a cheap white or indeed if I didn't know what the wine was, I'd go red 100% of the time, but good white wine I like very much (good to me - I'm totally uneducated about wine).

We have far more red than white at home, just two bottles of champagne and a very un-chardonnay-y chardannoy we bought on a recent Yarra Valley trip. The rest is red - some Spanish, some Australian.

My favourite thing at the moment is fortified Cabernet.

Definitely Red, preferably Zinfandel, and not much oak.

Agree. When reds are served at "room temperature" that doesn't mean the ambient temperature of a sub-tropical room in mid-summer. I asked for an icebucket for an expensive bottle of Cab-Sauv I was served in Shanghai last week...The wine must have been served at 30C+.

I don't have a preference, I have a list of wines I like and I use the one that makes more sense with a meal.

I'm old school and keep it simple......

white wine with white meat,

red wine with red meat.....
