United has provisioned the Sam Adams Oktoberfest on board lately. Nice addition.

That's actually the only Sam Adams my wife likes, so it's an annual tradition to pick up a case or two when it comes out.

We're making a trip up to the Wisconsin Dells this weekend, so I'll be able to get some New Glarus Spotted Cow.

I picked up a 6 pack of 8th Wonder's Hopston today as it was on sale. I usually enjoy it at the brewery, but HEB was having a really crappy sale on beer this week and for some reason lumped this into it at $7.97 a 6er (which I realize to the Canadians among us will laugh at me for complaining that $8 a 6er is a "crappy sale" :D )

Never a bad thing, but I would encourage you to also pick up anything from Capital Brewery, Ale Asylum, O'so, Lakefront, and/or Central Waters. Well, almost anything.

I like the Capital Amber and Central's porter quite a bit.

Trader Joe's Organic IPA. Bad choice, which I was pretty sure of going in. Avoid. Weird metallic taste.

Bought the 20th anniversary 4-pack of Stone bombers for $23. Saw online that someone got it for $16 in CA, the bargain of the decade. Seriously good, but only if you like LOTS of hops.

Do you know who makes this one? A bunch of TJ's other private label beers are made by Minhas in Monroe, WI and are almost universally nasty.

I like a lot of Tj stuff, but there's something about beer and wine from them that makes me shudder.

A 12 pack of Yuengling Light my dad bought the last time he visited. I'm more interested in what everyone has in their wine cooler ;)

Yards Philadelphia Pale Ale. I just added more beer to the fridge because it was looking low. :(

A few friendly locals in DUB turned me on to Smithwick's and have been enjoying it ever since.

Tonight is something a little different and am enjoying some Kronenbourg 1664.

We were sitting at the bar at The Brass Tap yesterday and got into conversation with the couple next to us. He was drinking I think Samuel Smith Chocolate Stout and a strawberry beer from the same brewer. And mixing them in the same glass. He gave me a taste and it was like a liquid PB&J.

This weekend:
-Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA (Scotland)
-Monteith's Black Beer (NZ)
-Gage Road Brewing Co Atomic Pale Ale (Australia)

I recently tried Chinese craft beer for the first time, when I was in Shanghai - Reberg Pilsner. I was in Shanghai frequently as a child, but I hadn't been back in many years and this was my first trip back since reaching the legal drinking age. So imagine my reaction when asked, "would you like it served room temperature or cold?" (I'm sure many of you know that room-temperature or warm beer is pretty normal in China).

Unfortunately, I wasn't given such a choice in the Air China lounge at PVG, which exclusively offers room-temperature Budweiser and Harbin beer and soft drinks :D^
