I'm enjoying Firestone's 805.

Just made a Zombie Dust run. These days they have resupply almost weekly, and almost always on Wed. or Thurs. They have outgrown that "keep the supply restricted" phase of their "marketing." Smart, since they could sell every drop they make.

7 pallets today, probably will be gone by 6 pm. Somebody is making a lot of money @ $40 a case.

They keep them in a chiller. Brought it home and popped one. Superb. Likely the best pale ale in the world; I detect no flaws. If coming to Chicago, make sure you come by the brewery. And PM me if you want company.

Given the time of year, a few dozen Oktoberfest-märzens from the usual suspects (Hofbräu, Löwenbräu, Spaten, Hacker-Pschorr, Paulaner and my favourite, Augustiner).

Oh and a Sam Adams Oktoberfest special which really wasn't very good.

Their mixed pack or their regular Octoberfest beer?

Currently 10 bottles of Blue Moon in the fridge. I bought them for my cousin and his wife who were visiting. They were initially enthused and each had one while we sat on the dock and chatted, but then we went out every night of their visit and they never drank the remains of the 12 pack. It will sit until the better stuff is gone.

Mrs BV and I went to the local Octoberfest Saturday and it was so sad, we left without drinking a thing.

I'm also disappointed with this year's Sam Adams Oktoberfest. Something is different compared to the past years.

Boraxo Sep 29, 2014 12:36 pm

Current contents, listed from best to worst:

Alaskan Amber
Lagunitas IPA
Gordon Biersch Marzen
Corona
Blue Moon
Shock Top

Hopefully one of my neighbors will come by to finish off the mass produced ones as it will soon be time to stock up on the pumpkin flavored ales.

You have brought back fond memories of the Spaten and Paulaner tents @Oktoberfest, I need to see if I can find those locally.

 7.5% alcohol would not be enough to get me to try one.
