While in Europe we saw the 1955 burger a lot, found it interesting.

McDonald's, Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura, Spain, Our Visit Feb. 2016
It's the only McDonald's outlet on the island.
Sometimes we go to McDonalds and it’s quite interesting to see what is on offer in foreign countries, so we used the chance to have lunch at the only McDonalds on Fuerteventura which is located in Caleta de Fuste.
It was on a Sunday in February 2016 when we visited. The branch was really busy and we had to wait around 25 minutes to have our order taken. There was a bit of a language barrier, but in the end we got what we wanted.
Of course the restaurant was really full. Cleanliness suffered a bit.
We had 2 orange juices, 2 Big Love (A heart shaped hamburger), Chicken McNuggets and 2 McFlurries with Nutella Brownies. While the burger wasn’t to our taste, we loved the rest.
Next time when staying in Caleta de Fuste we will visit again, but preferable during the week.
Would we want to visit this outlet again in our future? YES! ^
Would we recommend a visit to this outlet to friend? YES, it’s unique on Fuerteventura. ^

McD is test-marketing "Gilroy Garlic Fries" in a few stores in the San Jose area. Fries are seasoned to order in a bowl with garlic, olive oil and herbs.

I do recall years ago a Ringo Burger at Burger King in Tokyo. Normal burger but with a slice of grilled apple and a little cinnamon on it. Sound bad, but was delicious.

I decided to search out these Gilroy Garlic Fries and found the following, below is a list of dishes that are currently being tested at regional McDonald's locations:
Egg White and Turkey Sausage Breakfast Bowl (California)
Scrambled Egg and Chorizo Breakfast Bowl (California)
Gilroy Garlic Fries (California)
Chobani Greek Yogurt in McDonald's Fruit 'N Yogurt Parfaits and McCaf Smoothies (California)
Chicken McNuggets without artificial preservatives (Oregon)
Grand Mac, which is a Big Mac with a bigger bun and patties (Ohio & Texas)
Mac Jr., which is a Big Mac without the middle bun and only one patty (Ohio & Texas)
Chicken McGriddle, a McChicken on maple-flavored pancakes instead of a bun (Ohio)
Mighty Wings (Atlanta)
Sweet Potato Fries (Texas)
Has anyone had any of these? I'll be in ATL in a couple of weeks, just might have to give it a try.

I used to work at MickeyD's back in the 80's and 90's. We tried Big Mac's using 1/4 lb. patties instead of the smaller 1/10 lb. patties called the Super Mac. The main feedback was that it was too dry (not enough sauce) compared to a regular Big Mac. I personally liked it.
ETA: Aha, as I suspected (I haven't paid attention), coincident with the official renaming of Mt. McKinley as Denali, the burger has also been renamed: http://www.ktva.com/mcdonalds-change...enali-mac-226/
