If there should be a in-person gathering, it should be in ATL because 9 out of 10 people would be able to fly there directly.

DL is holding their 3rd annual block party in ATL and MSP. I know a year or two ago some FTers went to that from a DL insider. Maybe we could get something together then?

I believe that is the plan... the discussion earlier in the thread is that it is proposed during Mid-May during the annual block party in ATL. There will be a lot of activites already planned for that date, so lot's to see and do.

I'd be in for the block parties in MSP and ATL. MSP is rather easy for me to get to, and ATL, well there's around 12 daily MSP-ATL flights nowadays on DL.

The first official gathering will tentatively take place in Atlanta, and there are some potential surprises in the works.

No, I cannot reveal them right now. In fact, I was supposed to talk on the telephone to DeltaWebDev this past week but he mentioned to me that he was busy with conference calls and other unimportant issues, such as improving a certain Internet web site.

Hopefully we will talk to each other soon.

I was privileged to be one of those FlyerTalk members.

I have had the pleasure to meet zsmith2, who is employed by Atlantic Southeast Airlines. He was present at the dinner where the insider from Delta Air Lines set everything up.

DeltaWebDev and I have already discussed this, and we seemed to agree that the Delta Air Lines Block Party would be a perfect venue in conjunction with the first ever FlyerTalk member gathering at the headquarters of Delta Air Lines.

Where are the priorities here?

If I were a thread, I'd want to be bumped.

Actually, I was going to post this link to this thread anyway tonight, as the tentative schedule is still being worked out.

I am late reading this thread, but I would welcome the chance to attend such an event in ATL. Count me in as well.

Count me in tentatively.
16 May may or may not fit in my schedule -- not sure yet. If it does, I may well be there.

I am mostly a CO flyer but I'd be up for attending a DL DO
I'd even reward DL by sitting in that horrid CRJ200 for 3.5 hours to get to ATL, but I'd refuse to pay the $800 they want for that torture.

I'd LUV to attend, if I can, and my NW PE card won't bar me from entry! Unfortunately, on May 16 I'll be in Berlin (where I am now!). But if whatever date works for me, I'll be there!!

You're keeping the poll open til June 9 - for a May 16 poss date? Does that mean that you're considering a different date - I hope?

As far as accepting the responsibility for hotel and expense stuff, yada yada, OF COURSE!!

Just out of curiosity (since it's 12:30 a.m. here in Minneapolis and I should be in bed) - where is this May 16 date coming from? Not that I'd complain - I'm in Rome the first weekend of May and Las Vegas over Memorial Day and haven't booked any other May travel yet...
