i believe the May 16 date was related to the delta block party (emplyee gathering fun?)-type of event
the timing seems to agree with the past event (mid may weekend) so i am not completely clueless

the approval i have presently is for at most 2 groups of 8 to 12 people (if i remember right). if that's the level of interest then no sweat. if there are a lot more interested, then i might need to go back and have some conversations at work about how to accommodate more.
Can we get an upgrade and standby list for the DO added to delta.com?

Having the gathering of FlyerTalk members coinciding with the Delta Air Lines Block Party was suggested for a number of reasons. For one, many Delta Air Lines employees from virtually every department, including many of the executives, attend with their families to have a day of fun and celebration. Politicians and celebrities have been known to attend as well, including the mayor of Atlanta. Also, because there already is a big party planned, the additional cost of including FlyerTalk members would be minimal as compared to creating a gathering from scratch.
However, the date is not yet confirmed at this time.
By no means is this meant to be similar to the recent party which Continental Airlines sponsored for FlyerTalk members in Houston. We are looking for this experience to be more intimate. Some great ideas and surprises are in the works, and I hope they come to fruition and reality. Among other things, they depend on the availability of employees to host and direct the various items planned.

You can take me off the "possible" list. I will be flying into the States in June for the Brooklyn Reality Tour and very probably again in November or December for an annual PBI-FLL Meet and that about takes care of my trans-Atlantic travel budget for the year.

However, the date is not yet confirmed at this time.We are currently working on that now, but first we need to know the maximum number of FlyerTalk members to which we are limited.

I will be happy to develop said algorithm. Probably should be heavily weighted to PMs in Huntsville. Sounds fair to me!

Please put me on the list....btw I think the DL DO should be in MSP to celebrate the changing of the HUB *smile*
As someone who attended a previous block party, I think lining up the two is a great idea. It was a blast. But one request....could it be SLIGHTLY cooler than it was at the last one I was at with some FT'ers...keeping it under 100 degrees would be a start!!!!

Count me in. May 16th is tricky because it is in between 2 back to back conferences, but "DO"able if I can fly in that morning.
And I'd make a couple MRs if necessary to be sure I cross the 2MM threshold in time for the Do

just wanted to follow up to say that at this time DL is not officially sponsoring this. there is a group of us working on proposed agenda, etc that i hope to present internally early next week.
Road Warrior Training, on the other hand, I can help organize relatively easily. it's other stuff that i'm working on trying to do that i have to discuss with DL.
