While the fare may allow this, you will only get MQMs on routes that have a DL flight number - the TPE-ICN and ICN-TPE portions would not earn you MQMs.

However, the fare for going TPE-LAX-HNL-TPE, all DL flight numbers, with LAX-HNL on DL metal, provides the same 7.4c/MQM - it's ~$2135 for 28,848 MQMs. Also, the Dynasty Class from TPE-LAX would not be DynastySupreme, and is not as spacious as on the HNL route.

I'm trying to see if a fare will allow for TPE-LAX-ATL-HNL-ATL-LAX-TPE. This would be a mega-mileage-run, hypothetically incorporating DL's A-fare seats into the DL-CI codeshare.

If Silver Medallion status is worth $1500 to you, then by all means do the run. It would really only be worth it if you fly domestically within the US a fair bit, and not on heavily travelled east coast and Florida routes where you probably won't get upgraded most of the time.

I beg to differ. TPE-ICN is operated by KE, a SkyTeam founding member, and would qualify for 2xMileage MQMs (fare code C).

Then who operates ICN-HNL? Not China Airlines. Not Delta. KE as well?

If it's KE all the way, how on earth do we apply a CI codeshare fare?

Oops. My bad. HNL-ICN is KE, ICN-TPE is CI (Delta coded).

BTW. The fare is gone now. I can't find it anywhere, but yesterday it was all over the place.

A great A fare that has been around most of the year is LAS-ATL-LGA-ATL-LAS which can be purchased for $716.40 and yields 10,032 MQMs at 7.14c/MQM.

Unfortunately, returning to LAS via ATL in a purchased first class seat will reduce the odds of success for any Medallion member participating in the lottery upgrade on the ATL-LAS segment and may be considered bad karma in light of the final destination.

Playing on the ITA software website, I found a great fare for those in the MSY area wanting to do a mini MR as a day trip...I plan to do one of these runs in the near future.

MSY-BNA RT (ATL-CVG morning outbound, CVG-ATL afternoon inbound)

all Q fare, 4500 MQMs total, $231.09 for a 0.05135333/MQM cost

but the one below is slightly better, with a marginal increased cost:

MSY-BHM (ATL morning outbound, ATL, CVG afternoon inbound)

U fare out, Q fare in; 3000 MQMs total, $175.99 for a 0.05866333/MQM cost

nice thing about this run is that a) is dirt cheap, b) it involves no RJs, and c) connects through hubs (with CRC!). I'd have just enough time between connections to have a drink in the CRC and celebrate my mini MR!

Vegas MQM run

I'm about 10k mile short of Gold so I looked for a U.S flight that would give me the most MQMs.

MCO-ATL-SLC-LAS 11/16
Depart and 11:45 am and arrive in Vegas at 7:45. Have a nice dinner, wander from casino to casino and get back to the airport at 5:30 am to return.

LAS-SLC-ATL-MCO 11/17
Depart at 6:50 and arrive home at 7:15

Booked in A, cost 819.60 and nets me 12356 MQMs. (.07 per MQM)

Plus I might win back enough to pay for the flight!

Need to Earn 300 MQMs

I'm at 39,700 for the year and want to get to 40k . . . but don't necessarily want to take another flight to do it (earning NW miles for the most part).

Is there any way to get 300 MQMs without flying?

What will 40k do for you? Are you expecting 10k MQMs from the SkyMiles AMEX card? That is the only way I know to get MQMs without flying.

Other than getting the DL AMEX card, I don't think there's another way to get MQMs w/o flying.

And even that is unlikely to work because don't you only get bonus miles when signing up - and need to buy for $25,000 /y before getting the 10,000 MQM's?

Even if the OP uses $25,000 on the card in the next 2 months, the MQM's will not post until renewal in 2005?

I can assure you there is no chance that this will happen.

Thanks to all -- I'll probably just go ahead and fly a Delta segment instead of NW to push me over the top.

That's correct. The 10k MQMs will post when the card holder is charged the renewal fee which would be 1-year from now.
