Exclamation Medallion Qualification Mile and SkyMile Earning Alert

I recently booked a round-trip A fare between Atlanta and Pittsburgh for US$390.70.

This A fare is fully refundable and fully changeable.

I have no idea how long this fare will last...

Canarsie..the year’s only half gone. At the rate you’re cranking these A fares, you might yet attain PM status.

This round-trip airfare will earn 3,000 Medallion Qualification Miles.

SkyMiles earned = 9866; MQM earned = 20732 (details)

Works out to $0.0660 per MQM.

Doing this flight next month. I think its reasonable and able to collect in one big swoop....

Forget Delta, go for the best deal - it pays more dividends in the long run

Hello everybody,

Thanks to Canarsie for pointing me to this thread. I am currently a GM, but accrued only ~9500 MQMs this year. As the fourth quarter is about to begin I need some serious "status run" to be able to requalify for GM for the next year.

As I am based in ATL there is not much choice of airlines I could fly So let me share what I found and maybe someone will be able to beat that (I hope).

It is a nested itinerary, spread over Thanksgiving week. I will start with the inner fare details:

HNL-SLC-ATL-CDG on DL in class K, for 8,955 MQMs (Nov 23).
CDG-LAX-HNL on DL also in class K for 8,205 MQMs (Nov 28).

Total 17,160 MQMs for $914.93 or $0.0533 per MQM.
This itinerary also earns me 34,320 SkyMiles.

The outer fare was quoted here previously, but for arguments sake here it is:

ATL-CVG-HNL on DL in class A, for 9,592 MQMs (Nov 21)
HNL-LAX-SLC-ATL on DL in class A, for 9,452 MQMs (Nov 30)

Total 19,044 MQMs for $1,369.80 or $0.0719 per MQM.
This earns 19,044 SkyMiles.

So the whole run rakes in 36,204 MQMs for $2,284.73 for an average of $0.0631 per MQM. It also brings 53,346 SkyMiles. And I get a few days in Honololu and Paris

BTW. I anticipate some intensive travel next year so requalifying for GM (think double SkyMiles bonus) would be beneficial for me and worth the $$$. But I'd like to spend less if I could

Better price per MQM anyone? Or any flaws in the above schema?

Thanks for the great forum,
miro

Mqm Runs

The best I have seen this year involved a $375 A fare LAX-FLL-LAX via ATL or CVG in May and Jun. Each round-trip produced 10k+ MQMs.

At approx $0.0375 per MQM and without involving long red-eye international flights in coach, this was hard to beat.

Would sure enjoy discovering something similar in Q4.

I am looking to do a mileage run for MQMs. Anyone can think of something like that 375$ 10k MQM out of DEN?
(I have now 115kMQM and would not mind reaching 125k to give a friend GM, plus it'll get me closer to 2MM )

If you are US or EU citizen, then it's definitely enough.

I am new to this board so please be kind to me. I am offered to be Silver Medalion by taking qualifying flight to earn 5000 MQM before Oct 15 and seriously considering it now. The Silver status will be valid only until Feb 2005. I currently have 12250 in MQM. Please advise on what flight should I do to get a Silver and how to get a Silver for more than 6 month?

Thanks in advance to everybody.

It seems to me that you already qualified for SM status till Feb 2005, as you already have 12250 MQMs.

If you want to keep your silver till February 2006 you need to fly 12750 more MQMs (for a total of 25000 MQMs). You will need to fly those MQMs before the end of 2004.
