I was abroad for a month. Upon my return, the immigration officer asked me, "How did you support yourself while there?" along with a couple of other slightly less silly questions. I mean, if I was doing the bookkeeping for the Sinoloa Cartel, I am unlikely to volunteer such information. Has anyone else been asked such a question?

It's in midtown Manhattan. I'm not sure why you'd take a taxi for 190 mile drive though.
