All,

A wikipost seemed to be useful for this thread to help FTers find the most current infomation regarding DL's Status Match Challenge.

SKYMILES MEDALLION® STATUS MATCH CHALLENGE

Official Delta Site and Sign-Up

Status Match Period:
90 Days

MQM/MQS Qualifying Flights must be flown on Delta, Delta Connection or Partner Flights:
In order to extend your Medallion status after the 90 days, you'll need to earn a specific number of Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) or Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs) within the 90 days of enrolling by flying Delta or Delta Connection®, and partner airlines.

Comparable Status:
  • DL Silver Medallion (FO) - AA Gold; UA Premier Silver; AS MVP
  • DL Gold Medallion (GM) - AA Platinum; UA Premier Gold; AS MVP Gold
  • DL Platinum Medallion (PM) - AA Executive Platinum; UA 1K; AS MVP Gold 75K
  • DL Diamond Medallion (DM) - DL does not typically match to DM.
From dl.com: If you have status with another airline not listed above, you may still be eligible for this challenge. Please submit your information below to confirm eligibility.

MQM / MQS Requirement:
  • FO: 6,250 MQMs or 8 MQSs and $750MQD or MQD waiver
  • GM: 12,500 MQMs or 15 MQSs and $1500MQD or MQD waiver
  • PM: 18,750 MQMs or 25 MQSs and $2250MQD or MQD waiver
"MQMs/MQSs/MQDs earned through other sources, including but not limited to SkyMiles Credit Cards, do not count towards the challenge."

Criteria for Participation:
  • Member has not received a status match or complimentary Medallion status in the past three years
  • Is currently a non-Medallion member
  • Must present valid and current elite credential or statement showing elite status from another airline
  • Status being matched must be earned and not complementary.

Other Notes from dl.com:
  • A physical Medallion membership card will not be issued for the 90-day qualification period. You may enjoy Medallion benefits on Delta or Delta Connection by providing your SkyMiles number when making reservations or at check-in. You can also access your Membership Card through the Fly Delta app. During the 90-day period, you will not have access to all reciprocal Medallion benefits with Delta's partner airlines, including access to SkyTeam® lounges.
  • Members who are matched to Platinum Medallion status will not be eligible for Choice Benefits until the flight requirement to maintain Platinum Medallion status is met.
  • Through this offer, you may maintain the same or lower Medallion status level as your matched status. If you are matched to Silver Medallion status, you will not be able to earn Gold Medallion status through this offer, even if you will fly more than 12,500 MQMs or 15 MQSs during the offer period. But if you have been matched to Gold Medallion status and you only fly 6,250 MQMs or 8 MQSs, you will earn Silver Medallion status. Your Medallion status will be returned to non-Medallion status if you are unable to complete the minimum flight requirement before the end of the 90-day period.
  • Medallion status match is only offered for Platinum, Gold and Silver Medallion levels.

When to request:
  • Requests from 1/1 - 6/30 will receive status through 1/31 of the following year.
  • Requests from 7/1 - 12/31 will receive status through 1/31 of the second year.

Corporate accounts:
Depending on your company's agreement with Delta, you may have different qualification requirements and/or an alternate method of requesting a status match or challenge. Check your company's intranet or travel manager.

Current Processing Time:

What did they match you to?

I sent mine on January 17th and didn't hear anything back. So I called on Jan 26 and they said my copy was not legible. I sent back a new copy today. We'll see how long this takes.

Does anyone have an email address or phone number to call for questions on status matches? I submitted an AA Exec Plat back before Christmas and haven't heard anything. I have called Customer Care, Delta SkyMiles, etc and they have no clue what to do. I've even tried to tell them to forget about the status match and just rip up my request....they don't even know where to go to do that!

( I just got my flame suit back from the cleaners...)

I know that I was one of the ones who received "rocket express" handling on my own DL status match last year... but maybe it would help to remember that a request for status match is a request.

I faxed a copy of my CO Plat Elite card to Delta on Dec 20th. I called today and they have no record of it. She told me to wait a week or so. Should I re-fax? I am missing a lot of good MR opportunities.

I sent my original fax on the 01/17. I didn't hear back so I called on 01/26 to see what the status was. They said it was "not legible." So I sent my fax in again on 01/27 and called today. I think right now, "it's being sent to Atlanta for review." So I guess now I wait. I did think about just mailing them a copy if this wasn't legible. Luckily it was. I'll keep y'all posted on the level the match me to.

I emailed and faxed my request to amend my name on record

along with copy of driver's license and I also ask to see if they do status match, I enclosed copy of my AA EXP card. My name was amended within 48 hrs, but no match. I flew to JFK this past Monday 31st, and today I see that I'm Gold Medallion. This will come in handy as I have to flight back to ORD shortly, I've already been re-booked 2x. due to weather. Thanks. ^

Status Match from FB to SkyMiles

Is there any way I could get a status match from Flying Blue Gold ( Europe based) to SkyMiles ? If so what status would it be matched to? Gold or Silver?

It has been reported many times that if you have status on one *A carrier, another one won't grant a match. I suspect the same would be true with ST.

Would it then be possible to get a status match on united then?

I would contact DL first if that's what you really want but if you decide to go with UA, read this first...

I am a TAM Black (*A Gold) and asked Delta for a status match on mid-January. Got my status upgraded today to Silver only (not really a "match" then... )

Well, better than nothing...but I am a bit frustrated nevertheless...I will get there by myself anyway, but it would have been nice to get there sooner.

Cheers guys,

Anyone with an IBM.com email address seems to be entitled to status this way:

My travel dept sent me a terse email after I booked a UA flight and indicated we are not to use them anymore and included a link to a similar program to the IBM one above. I am already a diamond, so no need for it, but sounds like delta is trying to get more corporate flyers thru simplified matching.

AS/DL Status Match: Any Luck?

I am flying DL a lot, and have asked DL for a Platinum status match as I am an MVPG 90K on AS partners for 2011. Have any FlyerTalk flyers had any success with this? I have not been privileged to upgrades, but do appreciate no charges for luggage on DL. My early experiences this year on DL have been largely negative, but remain hopeful that DL might improve options for MVP 90K Golds.
