Tim Geithner was on DL 819 DCA-ATL this morning (for this: http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-mone...nke-in-atlanta). He sat in the first row of coach with a Secret Service detail. Numerous people approaching him to shake his hand and thank him for his hard work during the crisis.
I was surprised he flew commercial, but come to think of it I didn't see him board or deplane (I was in First). Best bet is he was delivered and picked up by cars on the tarmac - no trudging through terminals for the Secretary!

Eddie Griffin (comedian) was on the LAX-ATL red eye on Sunday night. He sat in the gate area during the delay, and chatted up quite a few people. He seemed very nice to those who asked for pictures and autograph. I have to be honest, though, I had no clue who he was when he walked up. I had to ask one of the "younger folks" sitting near me and talking about him. He ended up in 1B once we boarded.

Some rich people do know how to save money ...you also dont know what his travel situation today was. Master P is definitely not anywhere near being broke (estimated $400million networth for 2011).....dont worry about him, he has not fallen.

Who are you referring to as "The Catch me if you can dude?" Frank Abagnale, Jr? (the guy the movie and musical is based on, and who wrote the original book) Leonardo Dicaprio? (the actor who played him in the movie) Aaron Tveit? (the actor who is playing him in the current Broadway musical)

Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of Ikea, is well known for only flying coach/economy (see the "career" section of the page), and he is worth somewhere between $6 billion (Forbes) and $50 billion (Swedish business weekly), depending on the source.
Kamprad's policy is that there is no first class at Ikea, so even the way he and his staff are seen to the public is all part of the brand. (The story was recalled to me by a Swedish colleague who'd read an exposé on Ikea, so I may not have the facts 100% correct, but that was the gist.)

Flirtin' with Disaster...
For those of you who remember at least bits and pieces of the late 70s and early 80s, 4 members of Molly Hatchet were on my flight from ATL-JAX last night.
Standing around the gate area, it was readily apparent from their attire and abundance of hair/beards that they were musicians. We all agreed that they looked familiar, but none of us could place the names to the faces. Luckily the FA was able to enlighten us.

Who the heck knows/remembers who Molly Hatchet is? And, if we do not know/remember them, are they truly celebrities? Of course, as always, YMMV (meaning you might know/remember them, even though many or most of the rest of us do not!)
