My sympathy. Haven’t gotten one of those lately and I’d been hoping they were getting those more thoroughly through te modification cycle.

I've had them on ATL - IND twice in the past two weeks. Maybe the IND shuttle is getting stuck with them? (Yet another reason I try to connect through DTW anywhere. I'd rather be on that CR9 for 40 minutes than that 73J for an hour-plus.)

1/25 - LGA-DCA, bought ticket 48 hours out and cleared into one of two open FC seats 24 hours out. Showing one available FC seat most of the morning then four upgrades cleared at the gate with an additional 29 on the UG list but 1D went out empty.

Strong start to the year! Plat with a reserve card, all main cabin cash tickets, C+ at booking on all.

SLC-SEA 2/1 - cleared to F at T-72
SEA-SLC 2/4 - cleared to F at the PM window.
SLC-DTW 2/5 - cleared to F at the PM window.
DTW-HPN 2/5 - cleared to F at the PM window.

Now 4/4 (100%) on the year.

DM here.

OAK-LAX - Cleared at DM window.
LAX-HND - D1, eventually. Used an expiring GUC and cleared into PS at booking. Did not appear on the D1 waitlist at T-24. Called the DM line and was told it would show at the airport--called again at T-4 and the agent had to reprocess everything to clear me into D1.

DM, Reserve, not a MM
  • JFK - LAX: upgraded to D1 (used RUC, cleared before 24 hours)
  • LAX - JFK: upgraded to D1 (used RUC, cleared at booking)
  • LGA - ATL: 7/32 for 2 seats - I suspect pax buying C+ and the MM components will limit my upgrades on Delta go forward
  • ATL - LGA: Cleared F at DM window

I'm very happy to see so much "Cleared F at DM window".

DM with Reserve card, flights this year so far where I didn't buy First or use a RUC that cleared in advance. All of these are cash Main Cabin fares:

MSY-LAX : Cleared F at DM window
FLL-ATL : Cleared F at DM window
ATL-CHS : 6th on the list for 1 open F seat
LAX-SEA : Cleared F at DM window
SEA-LAX : Cleared F at DM window

4 for 5, a pretty strong start.

The one and only Delta Upgrade Fairy paid a visit to northern Ohio this morning, UG'ing me CLE-LGA-IAH (I was originally booked via DTW, but a rebook by Delta to a later flight made me change to the LGA connection which gets me to IAH two hours earlier). A good start.

No FC available LAX-SFO, and only C+ middle seats, but I'm fine in the exit row window.
More than anything else, this observation (and I'm not throwing shade at all to the OP) is proof what Delta is doing is working. By viewing a 70,900 mile upgrade cost as "isn't crazy," Delta has won.

Eighteen months ago I booked IND-EU for 58k a ticket in coach and the year prior, a D1 ticket for 99k also IND-EU. SkyPesos, indeed!

Fair point, and I could have clarified: 70K miles for that upgrade wasn't crazy compared to some upgrade prices I've seen. Also, that's one of the longest direct flights available on DL out of IND, so I assume that demand is fairly high.
