So will the program name change to SkyDollars? It would seem that SkyMiles may not be appropriate any more.

I don't read any of those shills. If anything interesting happens, someone will post it on FT.

I think the reveal is the leak - as has been mentioned upthread, TPG hasn't covered this - odd unless they've been given advance notice and embargoed - and DL gets to lock in favorable spin from a major travel blog in return for that exclusive advance access.

I'm surprised they haven't called eCredits this yet considering how they love slapping the word "sky" in front of everything too.
Value can change, but valueless outside this room. |

It is interesting to read the guesses here. Obviously most here are obsessed with status and decry the erosion of the rewards that used to be much more plentiful.
I have bad news for most here - it is going to get tougher to get status. A good number of people here will fall off the status rolls. Or DL will make a whole lot more money off of us to keep it. Personally I am guessing I will have to choose between UA and DL if not next year, the following. I likely will not be able to maintain 1k and diamond status. I am fine with that since theoretically I would have better treatment on the airline that wins. The only way that happens though is to thin the ranks and get rid of the least profitable customers who have the highest status level. To put it another way, if you are in this as a "something for nothing" game you are probably going to lose. |

Hard to tell without real numbers that will never be released publicly, but there hasn’t seemed to be any meaningful drop in elites at AA after their switch to loyalty points. (Upgrade lists don’t seem to be any shorter than before, and on hub to hub flights you still have the usual 50+ upgrade lists.) |
Do I need to sell my DL stock before tomorrow's announcement? Obviously the changes coming tomorrow are going to be negative for the consumer...
