Delta.com update

They seem to have updated the website overnight.

The biggest change I am noticing is that to login I need to click on a button on the upper right and it takes me to a new screen where I log in, and then get sent back to the homepage, instead of being able to just login from the homepage.

Why in the world would they force me to reload the page like that? On a slow connection (like on gogo, for example) that will be very annoying.

Some of the hotel websites do something similar....or they just don't recognize my password from the homepage and force me to the login page.

Was just going to start a thread on this.

I've also noticed that there's no longer the hyperlink at the top of the page with your current Skymiles balance. That hyperlink used to take you to your recent activity. It now takes 3 more clicks to get there. ("Go to My Delta", "View my Skymiles", both on the left side. Then on the right side, "My Account Activity").

I liked the hyperlink. It was a simple way to know on the main screen that my miles posted from the flight I just took. If you were generally expecting an increase of a certain amount, you could easily see that your balance had increased by that amount. And if you were really interested, it was just once simple click to confirm the details.

Now it's replaced by "Thank you for being a [StatusLevel] Member, [FirstName]." Thanks for nothing.

I wonder if they are trying to force us to use the drop down menu that is under your name. That's been there for a few months now but I never found it useful, and actually found it annoying when it would drop down on its own. Fail Delta, fail.

I agree. It always gets in the way of what I want to read or click.

The layout now also have a more flat design and when I log in, it says "Thank you for being a Platinum Medallion Member, GateGuardian"

What do you mean by a flat design? AFAIK we don't have a 3D internet yet or many 3D or virtual reality computer screens floating around out there in the wild.

When you want to make it easier for your EXISTING customers to do what they need to do on your site, you don't add steps (i.e., clicks) to the login process.

MM balance can now be easily viewed again.

They also fixed the glitch that prevented you from viewing seat maps from the search page.

Website seems faster and more responsive. Using it from my iPad RN.

Don't know if this is part of the change, but for my next flight, the C+ and FC upgrades are the same total price as yesterday, but they now show half the price with the note that it's for each way.
