Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:

Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)

Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.

Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017

Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.

New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3

Bus Map

Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:

Delta will temporarily offer dedicated check-in space in Terminal 2 (first door closest to T1) while a long-term Delta One experience is finalized.
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)

Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)

Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris

Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet

Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

You mean they're not just blocking out terminal info? Preflight you get a message saying "Thank you for choosing Delta, at LAX we've recently changed terminals. Your flight DL123 will arrive at a Terminal TBD." 🤔 It's Delta after all.

T3 Sky Club opening date has been pushed back until May 24. There's a table at the foot of the stairs to the temporary Sky Club stocked with a few packaged snacks and some water.

Woodford Reserve self-pour is gone in T2. Photo of drink selection to be uploaded at a later time.

Spotted a Porsche parked at T3 bus gate. It was cool to have the open-air semi-permanent bus gate to experience the airport and watch a few takeoffs.

Buses pick up T2-T3-TBIT, then return to T2. Ride takes about 5 minutes, though T2 Sky Club advised to plan for 20-25 minutes for a terminal transfer.

In T3, AC wasn't working well. The only place it seemed to be working was in the restroom.

That's T3 ... nothing has changed in the last years, always hot and stuffy, no matter what the outside weather.

Was in T3 last night, needs major work as we already knew. There are so many construction walls already as DL is putting in new restaurants but it is still pretty bad. I looked back and it didn't look like the FIDS were working properly at Gate 37. The Baggage Claim area is also a disaster with some B6 signs still around the Baggage Claim. Also still no SkyClub in T3 yet, I looked up and it still says VX loft by the door. Going out of T2 this morning so will report back with more.

Currently reporting from T2 LAX. My original HNL flight was downgrading from a
76W to a 75H. We were at Gate 27 and when they announced the equipment downgrade the gate area became a madhouse with 50 pax in line. Got put on the nonstop OGG flight which is my final destination anyway but the Gate areas in T2 are way too small. My only complaint about T2 is the auful TSA setup and tiny gate areas.

I wonder if Delta is taking the extra time to open the place up (or add to it). I know eventually it is suppose to be an expanded space from the Loft, but short term I was not sure what was being done.

Was in T3 last night, The Future SkyClub still has The VX branding on the door when looking up from the rotunda. It looks like they are doing quite a bit to it. Also in T2 the future SkyClub also still has AC Branding.

There where reports of issues that popped up that have delayed opening. Depending how much they tore back it could be asbestos given age of T3 or anything else that could be result of old terminal.

No Shuttle signage @ TBIT

Transferred from TBIT and T2 yesterday and took about 30 minutes to finding the boarding area. There was no shuttle sign anywhere in TBIT, even at the bus boarding area. TBIT has north and south gates areas but bus gates at north end wasnt on the terminal map i saw. I heard from flyertalk that there was a shuttle so when i saw a delta shuttle pull up nearby, i had to chase it. When you reach the North end of the terminal, there is a path to more gates which places you into path adjacent to the main building. At the end of the northern point of the adjacent building, there is a path on the left which to a big holding area downward to the ground level. Delta shuttle stops at the south end doors of this holding area. (there was no sign of any kind except a lady with radio who confirmed my suspecion )

T2 SKYCLUB
I transferred from KE's lounge to DL skyclub in T2.. T2 lounge has transitioned from Hospitality area to Skyclub on May 20, but amenities still lack the service provided by amazing T5 lounge. They seem to be utilizing the entire upper holding areas as they were scanning skyclub credential at the top of the stairs and at the elevator doors. The main entrance to Skyclub was absent, as they seem to be working on re-doing the entrance areas. The temporary entrance was at the area opposite from the staircase. Furnishing was consistent to the new furnitures that is offered by new Skyclubs. As this lounge still isn't wired for the tech connected world, most of the plug-in for USB and plugs were inoperable. T2 has no full service bar but self service bar only. Beverage selection was somewhat limited. There is no soup, or fresh salad. I didn't see any dinner roll either. There were some prepackaged processed salad (couscous salad and one other), some prepackaged wraps (vegetable, turkey), and single serve packaged tiramisu dessert. Pieces of cheese are also in a plastic cup containers. Some variety of packaged veggie chips, cookies, muffins, bread, and popchips were also available. Banana, wrapped apples and oranges were also available. I didn't use the shower on this visit, but they seem to be smaller and were about five rooms. Shower attendant is there to check you in.

The agent indicated full service bar will return, only in T3, and will also offer shower there. I don't believe LAX Loft had shower, so if this is something new, it might be a while for T3 lounge open.

As you probably guessed, I returned to KE lounge for better amenities of better food, plug-in.

Not working today either.

Of course, the AC not working is only one of the issues. Lack of seating is another major issue. More people standing or sitting on the floor than sitting in seats and the terminal itself is just a dump. Frankly, the only word I can think of to describe this is "disgraceful". T2 was fine, albeit crowded. But T3 at LAX makes T2 at JFK look like T4 at JFK.

Be sure to check again closer to departure. There is only one LAX-ATL flight listed as departing T3 tomorrow (at the moment) - all other LAX-ATL flights depart T2.

so if her departure is out of T3, that's where she should check-in? wasn't sure if they are check-in counters there.

Delta One check-in is in terminal 2, wall adjacent to the terminal stopping zone.
