Correction: wanna-be Instagram/TikTok influencers - you know, the type that takes selfies during boarding as they walk past first class, but then take their seat in the 2nd to last row of basic economy
I was mostly kidding about that remark, what I was trying to get at was how unique and valuable the experience was, and I hope the offering doesn't become too well publicized

again, do you know how influencers work? Instagram and Tiktok aren't like youtube, where the content creators get paid on views because of ad revenue.

obviously you dont since I work and am friends with content creators that have anywhere between 500-2M subscribers and have companies managing their TikTok, Snapchat as they have ad rev sharing that you can easily google.

I have several friends who are influencers and they dont promote anything unless theyre getting it for free or a kickback or something. If youre really good at this you arent paying for anything- anything. If your friends are paying for things theyre advertising in their influencer role theyre not really playing the game.
When you make it, you dont pay for anything. And if you do and they dont give you fancy upgrades or free VIP service you trash them

I'm going to bring this thread back on-topic.
Is the VIP service worth it for tight connections? Got a few tight connections between certain flights around Christmas where on one flight, I got a 40 minute connection at MSP between arriving from a domestic flight and leaving to YYZ and a 30 minute connection at DTW between domestic flights.

I guess people are finding out and prices are going up - agent is quoting me $350 per person + $150 per additional passenger at JFK?
EDIT: Nope, phone reps for VIP select are just as bad as the phone reps for Delta generally I guess. Got the price list, as I told the phone rep who told me I was wrong it is in fact $250 for 1 $325 for 2.

I used the service for my second time this past Friday, and have to agree with the group consensus that it's most valuable for connections.
I had a tight connection through DTW on Friday (approx 30 minutes) so booked the service a few days prior. My inbound was landing at C24 (far corner of C concourse) and outbound was one of the high-numbered gates on A concourse. It was going to be a hike.
As luck would have it, my inbound ended up arriving 20 minutes early. Oops, maybe I didn't need the service after all...Nonetheless, as expected, the rep was waiting for me on the jet bridge as a deplaned, and I was brought right down to the tarmac into a waiting Porsche. He took me for a quick tour around the tarmac, including a really cool view (from a distance) of the crews training at the de-icing pad. We made a quick stop at a SkyClub to use the restroom and pick up a snack. We also passed by an A330 that had just parked at a gate, and he asked if I wanted to get out for a photo in front of the engine. Duh! We finally made it to the gate with about 10 minutes to spare before pushback. As a semi-amateur aviation geek, it was super cool to get a little behind the scenes tour!
I haven't yet tried arrival service, but am tempted to give that a test also!

It's most helpful to me with tight connections (under an hour) or arrival service, assuming you have a driver picking you up, as it's truly spectacular to be taken off the plane to a Porche and have your driver waiting for you in a secure area, without needing to deal with the terminal at all or wait for your bags in baggage claim.

The credit has not applied for me. I first used the service labor day weekend, and figure it's now been about 6 weeks which is typically how long amex says credits take to apply.

Ah, just saw your edit... was about to comment and say that the pricing hadn't changed so you must have gotten a bad agent.
