The length of these flights is very similar and the main difference in J is the food service - slightly less on the LAX/SFO/SEA.

Also DL uses the 764 and 763 on LHR routes.

They should make the whole plane nothing but J!

Yeah, people who think contracts should be honored are so annoying.

that's all im asking for. instead of saying that this is effective march 1st they shoul've said all flights booked after march 1st. I booked a flight with certain expectations and I should receive those expectations when I fly. I shouldn't be worried about terms changing after I book all my flights.

With some companies, loyalty really is a two-way street .
This is what I expect as well. Not seeing some dark plot by DL, but like you and others just basing it on the lack of availability when trying to use SWUs today. It's painful, and I just don't have time to call DL and a) hope I get someone who knows what they're doing and b) even if they do, it's a point in time search. I can't imagine most of us having time to repeat the above over and over. I still have most of my SWUs from this year.

To offset this devaluation, I really wish (I know, wishful thinking) that they'd take away complimentary SC membership in exchange for double the GUs....which would be far more valuable, assuming we can actually use them (see previous comments).

DL's punch to the face of PMs

I first made PM in 2001, and every year since. I managed to use SWUs just fine.. This is the first time in 12 years that I have no mechanism, beyond miles, to upgrade internationally.

Getting regional upgrades will be no more than smoke and mirrors - as I'm upgraded regionally already w/95% success.

Nice decision DL - way to stick it to PMs

P.S....why aren't more PMs fuming over this?

Brand new PM here. Don't really have enough experience to be steamed, but all of my high-fare paid travel has been domestic, and the international travel has been either awards or low-fare out of pocket stuff. I don't know that I would have gotten a ton of usage out of SWU. I was planning on picking the $200 to DL.

That said, there is a small coalition of PMs on here who sound pretty steamed.

So I understand why DL terminated unlimited transcon upgrades. I don't think anyone ever intended to have business people buy $350 roundtrips and fly flat beds 20 times a year as upgrades. DL wants these employees to complain to their employer that they need to fly paid business. Get that. What I don't get is why not have the Regional upgrades work on the transcons. This way you can at least fly on a few personal roundtrips - hell even charge $100 co-pay. Also can't believe DL is not allowing a Platinum even one roundtrip international upgrade. Again if I meet the MQD requirement and miles to be PL don't screw me on personal travel when there is no way I could pay $4-8k for a C class ticket. Price discriminate - have advance purchase - what ever to stop business trips from using free bees - but give the perk on personal travel.

Also why won't the DL waitlist transfer on flights leaving CDG, AMS and BOM??? This means it will be impossible to upgrade roundtrip AMS-BOM (leaves AMS one way and leaves BOM the other). I have to say I am really torn. I have flown 122k MQMs this year and am regretting not moving back to AA (I stopped at 40k MQMs). With these changes could DL move Diamond down to $100k MQM like AA?

I like DL better as an airline, but I feel so boxed in by them.

Programs: Now just a lowly DL PM/1MM. This industry needs some competition. It's just not enjoyable anymore.

I suspect many PMs who fly internationally are steamed, and rightfully so. Me, I'm numb, I just don't care anymore, which is what DL wants. Sad part is, I used to like and respect DL.

But no biggie, I'll survive, and DL seems to be doing just fine as well.

If I were PM I'd be upset. "We've taken away international and transcons, but we've given you Hawaii...what else do you want"?

And if this ends up being true, then the GUs have even less value, assuming the lack of in advance available space continues...as a Skyteam traveler, I connect a lot in CDG and AMS. Why this barrier, but not in, say, LHR, GRU or SVO? I doubt it's due to IT...
