Surprising FA behavior
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this type of behavior before. I am intentionally leaving out dates & flight info as I am not looking to get anyone in trouble.
My understanding is when FA walks down aisle prior to landing they are looking for compliance with safety rules: items stowed, seatbelt fastened, seats upright, electronics off, etc. My experience has been folks with seats reclined and/or who continue to use electronics during this walk-through will get a range of reactions: gentle reminder, humorous scolding, sharp comment all the way to out-and-out rudeness.
So, on a short (one hour) flight on an RJ in the Midwest last week I had the following experience. Announcement is made "landing in 10 minutes, FA please check cabin for landing". FA walks down aisle and back. As they pass the seat in front of me is fully reclined, like right in my face. And the guy across from me is still using his laptop computer - minutes after the announcement has been made to turn off electronics. FA walks to the front, buckles in and plane lands. All with seat in front of me fully reclined and guy across the aisle continuing to work on his laptop through the landing.
Anyone else experience this? Or was this a one off? Serious enough that I should report it? I'm skeptical about the true effect of electronics on take-off/landing. And I know the seat in front of me could have posed a danger to me in a crash. Frankly I was just stunned, not sure what use the FA was on this flight at all since no beverage service was provided either - even though we normally have one on that flight. We frankly could have done without him.

All of the regionals are the ones who are sticklers for the details about my infant in arms. Last week i had one go over exactly where the infant life vest was, how to brace with my child, etc etc. Which was nice because I've never heard it before and this was at least her 20th flight. They were also the ones who made sure I knew to take her out of her baby bjorn when we took off and landed.

I've had that happen as well. Also, I've been told to turn off my electronics when using wifi and flightaware has us at 30000 feet and a long way to go until they really need to be off.
I always turn off so I don't irritate anyone, but a lot of people don't seem to mind being asked 3 times to do something.

I fly on a Delta Connect and seems each time I fly there is a different FA with a different set of rules. Some are overly strict (in my opinion) and some are overly leinient (again... in my opinion.)
Then again, think about the guy who was taking the video on the SW flight that went in forward gear first and "crashed" on the runway... If I'm not mistaken, that video camera he was using would be considered "electronic equipment" and should have been off until they actually touched down.
I don't complain too much about any of these types of issues because I figure if the media were to take the ball and run, we would all wind up in seats looking like a cross between a roller coaster seat and the Judge Dredd prison transfer...

I would report this as it is a significant safety issue. In the event of a landing mishap, the reclined seat could have contributed to serious injury for you and/or your inability to egress.

Not sure about that. I fly that same route out on Sunday and back on Thursday about 40 weeks a year for the last 18 months. So far there has been beverage service all but 3 flights. On the other two the FA announced "due to the short duration of the flight there will be no beverage service". Everyone groaned because we all fly it regularly and know there is plenty of time. On this particular flight no announcement and no service. Also FA played the recording for safety announcements which I only rarely see, usually when FA has a heavy (non-American) accent. I suspect it was really an imposter posing as an FA.

Just my luck the laptop would have headed right for my face and I couldn't duck out of the way because of the seat reclined in front of me. Oh well, a laptop to my face probably wouldn't do much harm. Delta might even try to charge me for cosmetic surgery.

I fly Y on DL CRJs a lot TUS-SLC-OAK or PHX-LAX-OAK and I've fallen in love with the crew that exhibits the above behavior. They also usually give me extra biscoff cookies. Call me a rebel, but I thoroughly enjoy not being told to turn of my cell phone when I've been using it on Gogo the entire flight...

Go ahead and report these issues, esp the computer/seatback (safety) and the lack of beverage service. The herd should be watered.
Plus, waiting for one's Coke and guessing whether one will get a whole can helps pass the time!
