Surprising FA behavior
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this type of behavior before. I am intentionally leaving out dates & flight info as I am not looking to get anyone in trouble.
My understanding is when FA walks down aisle prior to landing they are looking for compliance with safety rules: items stowed, seatbelt fastened, seats upright, electronics off, etc. My experience has been folks with seats reclined and/or who continue to use electronics during this walk-through will get a range of reactions: gentle reminder, humorous scolding, sharp comment all the way to out-and-out rudeness.
So, on a short (one hour) flight on an RJ in the Midwest last week I had the following experience. Announcement is made "landing in 10 minutes, FA please check cabin for landing". FA walks down aisle and back. As they pass the seat in front of me is fully reclined, like right in my face. And the guy across from me is still using his laptop computer - minutes after the announcement has been made to turn off electronics. FA walks to the front, buckles in and plane lands. All with seat in front of me fully reclined and guy across the aisle continuing to work on his laptop through the landing.
Anyone else experience this? Or was this a one off? Serious enough that I should report it? I'm skeptical about the true effect of electronics on take-off/landing. And I know the seat in front of me could have posed a danger to me in a crash. Frankly I was just stunned, not sure what use the FA was on this flight at all since no beverage service was provided either - even though we normally have one on that flight. We frankly could have done without him.
