Not sure about that. I fly that same route out on Sunday and back on Thursday about 40 weeks a year for the last 18 months. So far there has been beverage service all but 3 flights. On the other two the FA announced "due to the short duration of the flight there will be no beverage service". Everyone groaned because we all fly it regularly and know there is plenty of time. On this particular flight no announcement and no service. Also FA played the recording for safety announcements which I only rarely see, usually when FA has a heavy (non-American) accent. I suspect it was really an imposter posing as an FA.
