I'll be sitting on the sidelines as well. Ending the year with ~37k miles as a GM (with 63 segments), buying miles would just be throwing my money away. How about rollover segments, Delta?

The MQMs are ridiculously overvalued/overpriced with these calculations.

While I don't see any harm in offering it, and for some folks just shy of Plat or Diamond it could be a good offering, the way Delta value them is baffling.

SkyBonus offers SilverMedallion status for 100,000 SkyBonus points, or, the same redemption as a $350 one year SkyClub membership, or the same as a one way upgrade to Hawaii on a non-discounted ticket.

Buy the MQM calculation, Silver status is worth $2,500. Or about 8 times as much as with the SkyBonus calculation.

Can you use eCredits/Certificates to purchase these MQMs?

Good promo. I am sitting on the sidelines. Ending the year with 49,976 MQMs as current GM ... with 25K before February, I will be GM again but for a year longer!
If you end the year with <50k, how do you end up with GM and for a year longer? Please explain.

It would be awfully nice to see the 2013 SM program benefits before people have to decide to buy MQMs...

Oh, wait, this is Delta. The "enhancements" will come at the best possible time (for the company).

I just got the same offer, and again a big no thanks! Looking forward to rolling over approximately 23,000 miles (I'm normally a segment qualifier but did well on miles this year). With a new AMEX Platinum that I'm waiting until 1 Jan to make the first spend, a trip to Europe planned in January, and that many rollover miles I think I'll hit gold again before I actually lose it from this year! Hit platinum by summer and hope to eventually get an upgrade somewhere (or at least some SWU vouchers...)

Does anyone know if these post immediately to your SM account? How long did they take to post last year? I will make GM in 3 flights but buying the 2500 option would put me into GM for those same 3 flights. First flight is next week.

In previous years, DL has sold MQMs but not MQSs (segments). In fact, I can't recall any promo that gave segments.

Welcome to FT.

The person plans to avoid hitting 50,000 MQMs and instead roll over over 24,000 MQMs. Then upon flying 26,000 MQMs early in 2013, the person becomes GM but because it was earned in 2013, that GM status is good for the remainder of 2013, all of 2014, and the first two months of 2015, so almost a full year longer than GM earned before NYE, which would last through February 2014.

Yes I noticed that, way low - looks like money/revenue based Medallion program is out of the window. Time to resurrect "The Rumour" thread.
