The price seems steep for the number of miles, and I am going to be flying a lot next year, so I am not too worried about needing the rollover (i.e. I should qualify for GM no problem).

I have the DL Platinum card, but won't hit 25k in spending for the mileage bonus.

It seems like this or a MR, but I don't really have time to do that before the end of the year. Unless there was a really inexpensive one out of BOS I wouldn't be able to.

I have a 5,000+ mile flight in the first 2 weeks of January, is there a way I can get Delta to apply that to 2012 accrual, I have heard of that happening in some cases, but don't know if it is a reliable option.

Thoughts?
I would definitely not count on January flights counting towards 2012. I'm not sure where you heard that, but I haven't heard of anyone successfully getting that (particularly since rollover started).

There are a number of dates in December (particularly the week of the 10th) where you can do same-day BOS-MCO turns for $179.60 all-in. This will earn 2242 MQM's and meet your requirement. Not the best CPM rate, but it's a relatively quick and painless non-stop MR.

BOS-SNA can be done same-day for $253.20 in December and will earn considerably more miles (but obviously is a significantly longer time commitment). There are also cheap same-day options to LAS and PHX from BOS in December for around $240. Frankly, I'd say you have an abundance of cheap MR options, but I wouldn't wait much longer before booking as they will likely evaporate soon.

Chance of this is zero. Suggest one of the many other ways to reach PM from where you are, if you want to reach it.

It is valid. DL did it last year as well. Worked nicely to also get you a head-start on rollover MQMs for 2013, if not just reaching an elite level.

A couple of things make me suspicious

1. A key word search of the delta website does not show the offer
2. When I am logged into the delta website, and then open the dn.delta... MQM link, my Skymiles # and name do not appear to be filled in
3. DL loves to send me emails with offers - but have not received the MQM purchase email from DL

Probably being paranoid, but wanted to ask

TIA
If you need MQM by the end of the year, here are your 6 options:
1. Rent from Hertz (by 11/30 - see promo thread), or
2. Stay at Hilton (by 12/15 - see promo thread), or
3. Buy/renew an annual or 3-year SkyClub membership (by 12//31 - see promo thread) or
4. Buy MQM (up to 10K - see https://dn.delta.com/skymiles/purchasemqms/buy/landing or
5. Finishing spending $25K on your DL Amex for 10,000 MQM - but remember that apparently the activity also may well have to POST by 12/31.
6. Fly a lot through 12/31. (Here is a cheapie: ORD-IST on DL/KL/LX DL/KL/LX: ORD-IST $529 (UA match noted) OR Fly SV from Mumbai to NYC/IAD for $496 or so
SV (Saudia)/DL: Mumbai BOM-JFK/IAD $496 ai RT and East Coast to SEA for $216 or so - see Mileage Run Deals forum)
