Refundable Fares
I'm sure its easy, but I can't seem to locate what fare classes are fully refundable. Do "H" fares count? I found a colour coded chart, but didn't really answer my question.
Thanks

There is no fixed algorithm. You need to look at the fare rules for each fare individually. There are nonrefundable Y fares and there are refundable K fares.

I was told by an agent that if you want a refundable fare that you should check the refundable box on the search page. I purchased one ATL to Orlando doing this- it was a B fare class and it did refund.
The same agent mentioned that this was the only way to be sure. Even some Y fares are not fully refundable (been there, done that, sigh).

As for the refund, it will be in the original form of payment.

Can someone show a current example of when a Y class fare is not fully refundable? The only time I have seen it before is when a strike is on the horizon and people buy multiple tickets to ensure their arrival.

I didn't test it on delta.com but EF rules include this:
CANCELLATIONS
TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE IN CASE OF CANCEL/NO-SHOW.
NOTE -
THIS CANCELLATION FEE WILL ALSO BE ASSESSED TO
REFUNDS OF COUPONS INVOLVING FARES GOVERNED BY
THIS RULE.

this is one of my biggest peeves with delta - please give me a confirmation that a fare is refundable right before i purchase, and please give me a clear notation in my ticket record after i bought it.
my business plans frequently require me to change my travel plans (between 33% and 50% of my trips), sometimes more than once for the same trip, so i must book refundable tickets. but i also have plenty of trips that are fixed, which don't justify the added expense of refundable tickets (although the price difference is not always obvious). if i'm booking both kinds of trips at the same time, it'd be nice to see a confirmation right before i book. even if i'm not, it'd be nice to have a reminder just in case i forgot to click the "refundable fare" button at the beginning. and if one of those "fixed" trips happens to change, it'd be nice to be able to look at my ticket quickly to tell whether it was refundable or not, before wasting 20 minutes on the phone to delta.
