The same agent mentioned that this was the only way to be sure. Even some Y fares are not fully refundable (been there, done that, sigh).
Yeah, this is def the way to go ... either check that box online, or do it over the phone and specifically tell the agent that you need a fully refundable fare, as they all seem to vary so widely.
As for the refund, it will be in the original form of payment.
