Possible severe weather coming to DTW:
http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interactive/48174
cnn.com and weather.com reporting 70mph winds, with possible tornadoes.
Looks like it'll hit 1pm EST, then be gone really fast.
A little late to change travel plans, yet let us all know how they handle the weather.

That's what I'd call a very long range forecast .

Yea, yea, screwed up the month. Close to the end, and paying next month's bills.
Thanks to the mod, for fixing that!
300+ flight cancellations isn't bad? What's bad?!
Not as bad as thought it would be. Looks like it started to break up some, with patches of open skies. We got hit by the very south tip of a cell, and it only lasted about 15min, yet what we got was impressive. Not sure how much of a hit DTW took, or to the south or north.
Local paper web sites cut to the chase... expected the worst, and it ran out of energy by the time it got to the lake.

300 flights is less than 1/3 of O'hare's daily volume. For flights that aren't cancelled, most delays were less than two hours, and this seems to have been declining since late morning. Relatively good availablility still showing on many airlines/routes, not too much zeroed out. That's not a bad day for O'hare.
