This is my letter to the DL CEO on Saturday:
Mr. Richard Anderson CEO Delta Airlines Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport Atlanta, GA 30320 Dear Mr. Anderson: I am writing as a Million Miler, Flying Colonel, Sky Club Member, and Platinum Medallion Member since the inception of the Platinum-level program. You will find that I am a loyal, and relatively happy Delta customer. This sounds like a complaint but is really feedback regarding the fact that we have not been mailed our 2010 platinum medallion packets. My PM card expired two days ago. This should have been done in January. Does one need a 2010 PM card when the 2009 one expires, as mine has? Yes, at the Air France and Korean Air business lounges when flying economy they do and not mailing the cards out before the old one expires is a mistake for your most loyal customers. Why not have the packet office work with your vendor now for the 2011 packets, rather than wait until it is too late to get them to us in early February? Thanks for listening. Sincerely, :) |

Why has your PM card expired now? They are all "valid thru 2/10".
Either case DL should not wait until the last minute to send out the cards, assuming they will send them so we get before end of Feb. But if someone went on a 2-3 week international trip they will be without credentials which AF and KE are fussy about for lounge access. AA sends their cards out about two weeks after the status for the following year is achevied. |
Slightly OT question. I am PM but it expires this month and I will be reduced to a gold card, I haven't flown DL in a year but will be returning to them in April. My question it that I have no miles accrued for MQM right mow. Will I have to get the full 75k before getting back to PM?
Thanks in advance. |

I really like this idea --SMI and Jeff, how about the DM luggage tags to reflect our charter membership -- I for one would be proud to attach it to my carryon bags.
Is this too much to ask? |
The only reason the cards matter IMHO is lounge access for other ST, but DL ignored that when I asked and repeated that they'll arrive "sometime in March". Not really very professional of them.

Where? When I go into account history on delta.dumb, I only see my current Medallion level and the expriation date for my miles (not a problem), not the expiration date of my current status (2/28/10) or my status starting on March 1. Am I missing something obvious?

So, I requalified for Platinum and rolled 32,000 MQMs into 2010.
I get home tonight and find a package that has emblazoned on the outside of the envelope: "Your 2010 Gold Medallion Credentials are enclosed". My reaction was W-T-F?!?! I repeat WHAT THE F-!?!?! I open it up and find Gold Medallion card and tags, no expiration date. I read the letter: "Congratulations on becoming a two Million Miler." Isn't that special - I became a 2 Million Miler, oh, about 500,000 miles ago. 4 drink coupons. And a line in the letter: "As an additional token of our appreciation, we have an exclusive gift for you. Everything you need to know to chose your gift is on the enclosed card." Except there is no card enclosed, only a flyer hawking the Skymiles Credit Card from AmEx and an outline of the "new 2010 Medallion Benefits". Oh, and the folder labeled "Best In Class". In reviewing the benefits, I note that the comparison of benefits for "Dedicated Phone Line" shows Platinum as "Highest Priority" and Diamond as "VIP Line". So, Delta, what is it? Platinum or Gold? Are you just sending me new "Lifetime Gold" credentials (these don't say that they are, unlike the other set that I have)? If so, why not say so? And what about the "gift" part? Or did someone just not proofread? Or have you really demoted me despite the fact that I clearly requalified? At least in the past you could get the credential part right, even if you missed on other things. (Shakes Head and wonders whatever happened to the program). |
Well, I certainly can't find it now either. I thought it was in the area on the left under Current Membership Level. I'm sure it was there before my rollover miles were posted, because I recall seeing that my status was good through 2/2011.

For all of our about to be DM members...how many MQMs rolled over? Did you get -75k or -125k? Or have any rolled over at all?
