I got $300 from a redcoat at MSP on Tuesday - was bumped off a MSP-DTW flight and put on a nonstop to ORD - got in earlier as well and made the $300.
There was a couple next to me that were off to MIA and were doing the same thing - put on the nonstop flight and collected $300.

I would be too as "technically" if you arrive at your destination within an hour of your original arrival time....no compensation is payable. REMEMBER...I said "technically".

That's why I just smile and say thank you - realize a good situation and not get too greedy and have the situation backfire.

Oh...and by the way..."Red Coats" can offer between 400 and 600 compensation. It's only DELTA mainline Red Coats. NOT Delta Connection (Regional Elite) Red Coats. Sorry...so much for continuity of service.

Technically that applies only to IDBs. The poster was VDBed, so they're entitled to the compensation offered.

For comparison's sake, AF offered a non-negotiable 300 euros to take the next flight CDG-JFK (which was the next morning). 300 euros is about $450, so the compensation seems roughly equal, with it favoring one or the other slightly, depending on the circumstances.

Will they still allow GAs to offer upgrades in addition to the $600 for international flights?
In June, I took a bump on a JFK-TLV flight, but only after the GA offered $600 plus an upgrade to Biz Elite on the following night's flight.
(In fact, when she first started offering the vouchers I told her I would be willing to pass on them in exchange for the upgrade. She told me that if she gets to the point where she is allowed to give upgrades, I would get the $600 anyhow.)

$200 sounds a bit low for international since it usually involves an overnight stay.

I would have offered my seat but with the amount only at $200 for a bump, I refused. The flight was the last one for the day to SEA and it would have required an overnight in ATL. What an insult.
I would have taken $300 or higher......
