Has anyone downgraded to a non AF card but maintained flex perks? I've got 160,000 left but don't want to pay the fee anymore. I also want to keep the longevity of the card on my credit report. I've had it for 11 years (it was a NWA card back then).
I don't know, however, if you can downgrade to it and keep the same FlexPerks account. I would hope so, but you'd want to verify that. Also, at least on my no-AF FlexPerks card, each FlexPerks point expires 5 years after it's earned. So you couldn't keep the 160,000 points "forever". |

Holiday bonus time! My offer was for 2500 bonus points for $4k spend. Not bad. Wondering what others are getting. Please share!
Per notes my offer was "Spend $500 from November 1 through December 31, 2015 and receive 3,000 FlexPerks points." Called in to ask if this promotion was on my account, the rep said it wasn't. He asked where I had received this promo. Email, mail, etc. From my knowledge it was through the FP Promotions website. Of course, I logged in there and see absolutely no trace of it. The "Previous" tab doesn't show any past offers. Per the last paragraph on this blog post, it sounds like the promotion takes a month or two to pay out. What's the general experience with this promotions? |

What's the general experience with this promotions? I expect the points will post on my Feb 16th statement. |
I read somewhere that having US Bank Gold checking and FlexPerks Amex waives a fee on both checking and FlexPerks amex card. However, I was just charged an AF on my Flexperks Amex. What that info wrong?

I have another question - I have both Amex and Visa Flexperks. If I cancel Flexperks Amex, are my Flexperks earned from Amex safe? Balances from each card shown separately, but combined balance is shown in 'household balance'. |

But some checking account holders have also received targeted CC signup offers that include a "relationship bonus" that effectively waives the CC annual fee. |

It is not supposed to waive the fee. The fee will be charged and then you should receive a $49 statement credit. And remember that this is US Bank we are talking about. It may take three months for them to (or not to) post the statement credit. You can wait and risk it, or you can cancel and forget about it.

I emailed US Bank and either they didn't understand me, but they response was "no, we don't waive annual fee".
You should be out of your mind or love wasting your time, if you are trying to get a reliable response from a US Bank CSR about this. |

They are correct, by accident. Technically the fee is not waived, but a statement credit equal to the fee will post to your account, if your account is flagged for the offer. And you can't know unless you wait.
You should be out of your mind or love wasting your time, if you are trying to get a reliable response from a US Bank CSR about this. Currently I'm not sure what to do. I have Visa and Amex Flexperks, so obviously I don't need both. I like Visa more, since some stores are coded as 'grocery' for Visa, but not for Amex. Plus, I can pay Visa at WM and not Amex. But Amex can be useful for Amex offers. The only thing is Flexpoints, since I earned ~40K flexperks from Amex. Are they safe, if I have a Visa open? Also, did anybody have a Gold checking and Amex Flexperks that were opened without any promotion (like relationship bonus) and got their fee refunded? |

They are not safe. Each card has its own FlexPerks account which is totally unrelated to the other. You should be able to transfer your FlexPerks points between cards, using the FlexPerks account number (which is different from you credit card number) that is associated with each credit card. If the transfer didn't go through online, call the CSR and they should be able to complete the transfer (Triple check the account numbers with them, before letting them complete the transfer).
