That was for the business card.

Has anybody got anything different for the personal Signature card than 10K/$500 and 5K for add'l $4500?

BTW I had the same promo and code as flyingwombat.

offer for non biz cards?

check this out:
https://emailpreferences.usbank.com/...t=freeflight15

Activation and $500 net purchases by 10/31/09 are required to receive 15,000 bonus FlexPoints.
Registration at flexperks.com/freeflight15 and $2,500 total net purchases by 10/31/09 are required to receive 2,500 bonus FlexPoints
20,000 FlexPoints for a free flight up to $400 ticket value.

T&C says they match offer number with post card they sent you .maybe we can use 36991 offer code and still get this better offer. what do you think?
"

Registration will be void if the promo code and last four digits of your FlexPerks Visa Account Number you entered do not match what was provided on your card carrier mailing. "

I got exactly the same offer on a Platinum card. The registration site takes all codes though and in the fine print it says that if you register using the a code that was not sent to you the registration is not valid. I wonder how they decided whom to send the 10k or 15k activation offers.

I received the spend-$500-get-10000-points, spend-another-$4500-get-5000-more points offer. Strangely, the offer implies that this activity will generate enough points to earn a free flight.

However, I am in the program that earns 1 point for every $2 spent. By my calculations, a $5,000 total spend will generate 2,500 regular points + 10,000 first bonus points + 5,000 second bonus points. That totals 17,500 points, not 20,000 points needed to earn a free flight.

I'm probably going to go ahead and take advantage of the initial bonuses, even if I have to spend $10,000 to get to 20,000 points. That still is a potential 4% return ($400 ticket / $10,000 spend) on a airline ticket that will earn miles. On top of that, if I hurry up and double dip on the NW miles until the middle of June, that's another 0.5% return if you assume that NW miles are worth $0.01 per mile.

You are mistaken...take a closer look. When you SPEND $500 (which gets you in return 500 pts) then you get 10,000 bonus points. (Total points at this point is 10,500). Then once you SPEND another $4500 (which will get you 4500 points) then you get 5,000 bonus points. THEREFORE, if you spend the $5,000 ($500 plus $4500) then you will have a total of 20,000 pts.

Did you skip over the part where I earn half a point for every dollar I spend? Unless US Bank is ignoring that part of the equation for the first $5,000 of spend, how is my math off?

(0.5 X 5,000) + 10,000 + 5,000 = 17,500

Just got my business card today and got the spend $500 >>> 15K, spend $2000 get 2.5K for a $400 flight at $2500 spend. Hopefully the platinum shows up with the same offer - I'm in.

Both of my accounts have been dormant for at least a year. I was going to cancel one (personal one I think) but asked for a fee waiver instead and they granted it, so I kept it open.

Even if you don't like their other redemption offers you can take it as a statement credit. 20,000 points equals $200. That's a minimum of 4% back in cash.
5000$ in spending means 20k points = 400$ in ticket value = 8% back
You also get 20$ towards fees like baggage.
Also if you can do it by 6/15,
you get 5000 in NW miles = 50$ min - 100$ max value
So you are looking at ~500$ value for 5000$ spend = 10% return
I'm certainly willing to take this deal.

Even if you just pay taxes, you only pay 2.5% in fees!

This is the better deal, but only for the business card holders

I am not sure what the real limitations are.
Even if you do not use this after June 15, you can still take the offer now.

I have the Signature WP card and today received a call informing me that I would receive the 15k + $2500 offer. He said the details would arrive with the card. Pretty good initial offer. Will probably cancel card after redemption of miles though.

I sent an email to US Bank asking about my new card, and they replied as follow. I hope the card will arrive soon as I could double-dip to get the initial offer and NW miles. Then I will park the card in my drawer.

(note: the date is my card's statement date, so it varies for everyone.)

Dear buschoi:

Good morning and thank you for contacting U.S. Bancorp Service Center, Inc. via our website.

With this card you earned Northwest Airline miles only until May 20th, 2009. As of May 20th, 2009 until June 17th, 2009 you will earn both Northwest Airline miles and the all new FlexPoints. As of June 18th, 2009 your account will only earn FlexPoints.

You will receive the card before June 18th, 2009.

You are a valued cardmember and we appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance.

Sincerely,

Sabrina R.
