So no letter yet about the flex cards? I read somewhere that us Bank was going to send out the notices for the changes. Doesn't make sense to make changes without informing customers

So if they made all the RTR redemption at 1c, are you guys still able to redeem the points on their travel portal at 1.5 rate? If so, I wonder if AR will follow this change.

I did a SW purchase, but didn't get the RTR text even after waiting a few minutes. I have the AR and it has worked in the past (last used it in 2019). Has anyone else experienced issues. I think the issue is that I didn't have enough points to cover the full transaction. Does that sound correct?

Did your Southwest RTR redeem at .01 or .015? And you have only Flexperks?

They changed the RTR redemption to 1c in March. You probably didn't have enough.

Update: I tried a lower purchase with Amtrk and did get the 1.5 cent RTR text. So, it seems that one needs to have enough points to get the text, partial RTR is not allowed. I have the Altitude Reserve.

I converted my Flexperks card to Cash+ by calling AR CS line. No wait on hold, no questions asked.

Have had this card since it was sold in conjunction with NWA in the 90s.
Used it over the years to get maybe 4 x $1000 tickets as Flex Perks, didn't mind the fees, and there were some decent bonus points opportunities--though wtih the devaluation (when it switched to 1.5 cents per point) to now the new one, and with my annual fee coming up, I downgraded to the no annual fee Cash plus (? or whatever it's called) card. |
I'm looking to make a booking for a hotel using my points on the Flexperks travel reward center. In the T&C it looks like if I cancel the award - even though it's permitted by the hotel - that I might also be charged a $35 fee from Flexperks for canceling. Does anyone have any experience with that? Does Flexperks really charge $35 for the canceled hotel room, even though the hotel allows canceling for free?
UPDATE: from more than one source not here, they do charge the $35 change/cancel fee on hotel award bookings. :( |
