How can I make a direct deposit?

I tried Citi ACH push on Chase but it did not get counted as a direct deposit. Is there any other way I can set up direct deposits other than from work?

I think I remember reading on slickdeals or fatwallet (sorry, but I can't remember which one since I rarely read them) when reasearching the chase $125 bonus, that citi ach push DID count as direct deposit. I saw reports of people getting their bonuses after 1 or 2 pushes from citi (interinstitution transfers). I didn't try it, so I can't tell you for sure. What I do know from experience is that for chase, paypal counts as direct deposit to save you the monthly fee but will NOT give you the bonus.

It has been my recent experience that Chase no longer recognizes ING transfers as direct deposits. Others have reported problems with Pay Pal qualifying. I found an easy solution with Intuit payroll http://payroll.intuit.com/payroll_se...ne_payroll.jsp They offer six month free, so now anyone can be an "employer" and do their own direct deposits free!

Thanks, do you have to register with your SSN or any other unique identifier? Just wondering if I can set up another ID after the six months.

I don't recall. I use it for my real payroll, so I'm sure entered my federal tax ID at some point. I don't see any reason you can't just create a SS# to use. It's not linked to any government agency (unless you set it up for tax payments).

The reason I asked is to know if I set a new account for another six free months.

Just make up a new SS# or FEIN, or use yours, then your wife's, your kid's, gramdma's, etc.

I have not set it up fully but stopped when it mentioned the taxes it would pay to the US govt. Is there a way to avoid that?

A few questions:

I have setup my account with 12-3456789 as EIN. It did not seem to accept saying it could not recognize it or so. But I was able to go on to the next step where I set up an employee without putting in a SSN. does this mean it is linked to some govt database? If not how could it say my EIN was not recognized?

I then tried to schedule a pmt to the employee and it added a tax to the amount of the payment. This tax appears under the taxes to be paid. Will intuit take this money from my bank and keep it till I schedule a date to pay the authorities? any way to get this money back?

Thanks.

Intuit payroll will NOT make any tax payments unless you set up e-pay and initiate a payment under the "TAX PAYMENTS" tab. It will NOT file any reports with the state or feds unless you initiate it.

I have been using Intuit (Quicken) payroll for my small business for about six months and have been very happy. You can even split a direct deposit between two banks.
