There’s a FAQ on the back of the letter but it doesn’t address benefits at all. The way the letter is worded (and lack of an AF on the new card) makes me think we are losing the two benefits most of us value most–the Precheck/Global Entry credit and the $100 annual airline expense credit.

However, in the “What’s staying the course?” section it does mention “Existing travel benefits”, so who knows. It doesn’t say “ALL existing travel benefits”. Not to mention, I’m not sure if those credits are even considered “travel benefits”.

In any case, looks like we’ll have to wait for more info “coming soon” (which I would think must mean the next ~3 weeks since the AMEX cards will stop working on Feb 22nd.

If we are losing the PreCheck and $100 annual benefits, I’m guessing we will have until Feb 22nd to use them.

anyone tried southwest gc this year?

My worst fears when i saw "changes coming" mail from PenFed.
Time to get rid of this card after we use the points.
Haven't opened the mail yet.
DOC says 100$ credit remains.

I read that letter a few times last night too. We had the regular Pathfinder.

It's not obvious to me that 'existing travel benefits' stay the same is same thing as 'nothing is changing'.

Especially with respect to the all important travel credit and somewhat less important (to me) GE credit.

The points are .... on this card and not worth storing.

But if they keep the trip delay insurance that could make this a reasonable card for the frugal traveler who needs an air travel payment form leery of committing to big annual fees if one continues to get

* trip delay (limited in value and number of claims)
* air credits
* GE credit

Got the same letter. Not very informational. Good to hear DOC says the $100 annual credit still stays.

I assumed they were canceling the Amex version but it doesn't sound like that.

Can someone confirm if the current Visa PenFed also has 100$ incidental credit?

happyvoid Jan 31, 2020 6:59 pm

I don't think so

temporarilypoor Feb 1, 2020 11:17 am

Purchased Uber MPX early in January, still not reimbursement.

I had MPX reimbursement in 2019 take ~3 months if I recall correctly. Will be waiting.

PenFed Pathfinder (still on Amex network)

$50 WN eGC purchased on 2/2, posted on 2/4, reimbursed on 2/6

I have a $50 MPX/Walmart out there which has not reimbursed yet

Will update if that works
