Datapoints:
There is a $90 AF and one cannot earn the 90K in one year unless one does $25K spending.
Best way to add to initial purchase bonus of 20K is to add AUs (and quite a few of them, too!).

I have never churned so be gentle ! Do you have to cancel the one you have and then just reapply ? Or can you use a different address ?

Ugh, I keep forgetting about the wiki links ! Thanks. I don't think I will be able to do 12k in 6 months though but we shall see.

Filled in the online application but a message similar to "we cannot give you a decision now and will send you a letter".

As you may have seen in this thread, I would highly recommend calling the spanish reconsideration line. Had something similar happen to me and when I spoke with the representative they said something along the lines of my app getting hung up, and approved me right away. For what its worth, I've opened about 8 cards since April.

Just did that, got declined, apparently they will send a letter to me. Very odd.

Has anyone gotten the 50k bonus by spending $2,500 within the first 3 months?

I didn't think that was part of the offer but when I called they told me I would get the 50k through either of the following:

* Spending $2,500 within first 3 months
OR
* Spending $12,000 within first 6 months

Not sure if it was a misinformed CSR or not.

UPDATE: Called again to double check. Another CSR also told me that spending $2,500 in first 90 days will result in the 50,000 bonus points.

Rookie question, But I'm planning to fly to China and Bangkok from Texas in 2016 IS the name of the game "get as many cards as possible"? since everyone on here always talks about transferring points or booking flights with other airlines using these points.

I can meet 5-12k minimum spends on cc's, no big deal. Where are my efforts best spent?
Are these a good 3 to start off with: Virgin Atlantic BOA, Barclay US Airways, Citi Aadvantage platinum? And just rack up as many bonus points as possible and then decide later which airlines I want to use. Since they all generally seem to be interconnected somehow via partnerships.
