You should dispute that and have them credit it. You are supposed to have 2 months to be able to fund your account before the monthly fee would apply.
Even though I've not previously had the suntrust account, there's clear evidence on the web that they run things in a way that is less than appealing to most customers. I'd consider this one an earn and burn.

well the issue is that the automatic email they sent only includes the last 4 of the account. that's all the info i got. phone support was a joke, yesterday

Forgive me if this has been asked before:
I currently have a Suntrust business bank account but my check card is not the Delta Skymiles check card -it is just a regular no fee check card. Is it possible to use this existing business account and just "order" the new check card to get the Skymiles? Or would I have to stop in and close the old account and open a new one?

I was debating if I should open an account, pay $75, and go through all the hassles, to get 30K sky pesos. But I did some search on their award tickets again and decided to pass. Delta's skymiles are basically worth almost nothing... I have 50K miles sitting in my account forever but I just cannot get any tickets that I want for the low award price. It's either weird connections or nothing under low price category. Totally not worth it.

But my husband, who opened his account a few days ago at a walk-in, was told he had 30 days to fund his!

I was debating if I should open an account, pay $75, and go through all the hassles, to get 30K sky pesos. But I did some search on their award tickets again and decided to pass. I can make very good use of this card based on the hbolded text, assuming I understand it correctly.
By recurring bill pays I'm assuming just paying bills online through the checking account. So I could place $3,000 in the account, setup a semimonthly direct deposit of $750 and setup a recurring bill pay of about $1500 per month. If I read everything correctly, that's 18k skymiles per year which I think is worth $75.
Those are my only (legitimate) recurring bills I can't pay through a credit card.
I don't really understand how this would generate sufficient fees to pay for the miles but I guess I shouldn't question it if it works out.

I attempted to fund a large amount on CC, they informed me it was a courtesy and intended to just fund the first $100. I had trouble with the person I was chatting with so I'm interested in other's ability to fund with CC.
