Some of us still earn Delta miles with this card or may want information about past or grandfathered terms and conditions.

Please do not spread panic about miles not posting until after the 10th of each month.
In most cases, miles post in the evening on the 5th of each month if it's a business day, or else the evening of the next business day. "Miles post for purchases made between (inclusive) 5th day of prior month to 4th day of current month."

Even though I've not previously had the suntrust account, there's clear evidence on the web that they run things in a way that is less than appealing to most customers. I'd consider this one an earn and burn.

Forgive me if this has been asked before:

I currently have a Suntrust business bank account but my check card is not the Delta Skymiles check card -it is just a regular no fee check card. Is it possible to use this existing business account and just "order" the new check card to get the Skymiles? Or would I have to stop in and close the old account and open a new one?

    Thanks.

I was debating if I should open an account, pay $75, and go through all the hassles, to get 30K sky pesos. But I did some search on their award tickets again and decided to pass. Delta's skymiles are basically worth almost nothing... I have 50K miles sitting in my account forever but I just cannot get any tickets that I want for the low award price. It's either weird connections or nothing under low price category. Totally not worth it.

They allow funding with a CC. Has anyone tried a Chase card?

Thanks for the info--I called customer service and they said they are "looking into it" for me.

But my husband, who opened his account a few days ago at a walk-in, was told he had 30 days to fund his!

    So now I am confused.

It will allow you to pay your tax for less than $4 and earn 1 skymilefor each $ you pay. so it could worth a lot more than the 30K you get.

By recurring bill pays I'm assuming just paying bills online through the checking account. So I could place $3,000 in the account, setup a semimonthly direct deposit of $750 and setup a recurring bill pay of about $1500 per month. If I read everything correctly, that's 18k skymiles per year which I think is worth $75.

Those are my only (legitimate) recurring bills I can't pay through a credit card.

I don't really understand how this would generate sufficient fees to pay for the miles but I guess I shouldn't question it if it works out.
ALERT: NO! Please note that the recurring bill pay isn't quite what it seems--take it from one who got burned!

I THOUGHT it meant that I would get miles for my monthly bills, so I set up auto bill pay online--Verizon, Geico, etc. along with my health insurance company, which does not take credit cards. I did not get credit for anything!

I called SunTrust and was told the miles are only for transactions which can be put on the card, not paid through the checking account. There is only one place I can do that: my daughter's college, which does not accept credit cards, but will accept PIN transactions (i.e. debit card). Recurring bills to a business or individual--like a monthly check for child support--won't do it, unless your ex- takes debit cards!

Now I've gone back to paying all my bills on my credit cards that earn more than 1/$1.

I attempted to fund a large amount on CC, they informed me it was a courtesy and intended to just fund the first $100. I had trouble with the person I was chatting with so I'm interested in other's ability to fund with CC.

Isn't this just backwards? I know that Verizon paid at their website gives cc points, why not here by use of card?

I read on SD that someone tried with Chase and it was processed as a cash advance.
